a moldy fridge that works, if it was a good deal? What about a working stove from the 1980's that isn't cleaned and therefore looks ugly?
My answer is hell no, who in the world would pay for either of those things. But my loving wonderful husband thinks that if I list them on craigslist for sale, someone will want to pay. They are part of the old kitchen we demolished, and I'm sick of appliances sitting in my garage. I think listing for free is better so a metal scrapper can just take them.
JUST out of pure curiosity, I would list them priced, "Best Offer" to see what someone would be willing to pay. You may end up giving them away....BUT could make a little cash.

So after sharing heated words, we are listing them at a similar price to other items on Craigslist. If they don't sell within a month my husband gets to get rid of them. lol. We are both pretty sure that we are right, so this will be interesting...
I found that posting things as "Free" on Craigslist doesn't generate much interest. When my parents were moving, I listed their 27-year-old couches on Craiglist for free and no one replied. I then put them up for "$50 or best offer". I didn't think anyone would want them, and I was more than willing to get rid of them for free, but someone ended up buying them for $50! So you never know.
Here in Michigan, DTE Energy will pay you $50 for any old fridge. I don't know if they do that in your area, but it's something to consider. Quick cash without the Craigslist hassle, if that's available for you.

That's great to know! I'll check into our local energy companies
Comed will pay you for your fridge and take it away, as long as it still works. I think you need to plug it in when they come to prove it.
I'd throw the stove up on Freecycle or on a FB garage sale site. You never know what kinds of crap people will buy. Just list as best offer (though on Freecycle it has to be listed as free).
Even if you're wrong, it still means they are out of your house!
