Sad baby story (WBCIIY)

I know this girl. Our families knew each other growing up, and we used to play together, then we hated each other in HS, then we worked together and got close. Her son is my age, and the cutest, sweetest thing. I worked in another job with her sister, and I love her too, and they got pregnant together and were so excited and I felt deep, irrational, purple rage over how close they were.
I met First Girl and her baby at the pediatrician Monday. He was 8 days old and SOOOOO SWEEEEEEET. He was also so tiny, and moved kind of weird, and I brushed it off as him being brand new. She was really upset and said he kept throwing up stomach bile and they were admitting him to the hospital. Yesterday, she told me that he was still in there, and doing better, but she just wanted him to breathe on his own so they could take the tube out so she could hold him and he would know she was there. HEARTKILLER.
Today she posted this:

Baby's biopsy results came back today.. He was diagnosed with a rare disease called Hirshsprung that affects 1 in 5,000 infants. He will have his colostomy for at least the next 3 months. They will then perform 1 to 2 reconstructive surgeries to put him back together.. I am very thankful to all of you that have kept us in your thoughts and prayers!! Because of our faith Baby will eventually be able to live a normal life!! Please continue to pray for our baby!!

I read up on it, and the prognosis sounds very positive, but I'm still sad that he has to go through all that.
This is the friend who tried to get me to stick my finger up their first son's ass and pull his poop out. So I can see that this is a genetic condition.
