I'm finally starting to unclench about needing to take the diaper bag everywhere. That effer is heavy, and we rarely need diapers, etc., on the go these days.
I'd love to find a cute crossbody or something that's easy to carry hands-free. I think I have slope-y shoulders, shoulder bags seem to slide off.
Looking for just big enough to hold a large wallet, maybe some wipes and an emergency diaper, and a gigantic smart phone.

I just got one this week -- my first, so I didn't want to invest a lot. It doesn't fit a ton but works for quick/easy outings with the kids. I can fit a wallet, makeup bag, diaper, bag of wipes, phone, and sunscreen in it, and it's not super heavy. I found it at Marshall's for $30. Very pleased w/it so far, but I'm like 3 days in...
I have an MBMJ classic q Natasha that I love. It's wider than tall song don't easily lose things.
It's also not huge so I have to be more particular about what I carry daily, which I like, because I hate feeling like a packhorse.
I have one of these also, and I love it. It fits a lot more than you would think! Nordstrom is price matching right now, so you can get it for $294 instead of $368! link
I got this in turquoise for summer. It might be bigger than you're looking for but I love it. It holds my wallet, keys, sunglasses, wipes, and a diaper or two with a bit of room for miscellaneous things.
Also, I just keep a fully stocked backpack in the car, sunscreen, extra set of clothes, diapers and wipes and then my purse is basically just my pre-baby purse stuff and a pack of wipes for emergencies.
When we go somewhere like the zoo today, I pack the backpack and take that.
I still keep the loaded diaper bag in the back of the van, and have just been taking my clutch wallet in when we go places. Most of my pre-baby bags are shoulder bags or handbags, and I think being able to either sling something onto my wrist or a crossbody would be easier trying to hold on to a toddler's sweaty little hand
I wanted something cheap. It's pretty roomy. Only complaint is the strap is super long so I had to tie it in a knot which pry looks silly but it works.

It says it's "adjustable", but shows it tied in a knot in the picture, too. Are they seriously saying it's adjustable by tying it in a knot??
I have the Lo and Sons Pearl. It is probably my most favorite bag that I've ever purchased. It looks tiny but holds a ton. It is expensive but worth it.
I don't want to be overly dramatic, but switching to a crossbody bag has been life changing. I am kicking myself for not changing sooner. I had been searching for months and months for the "perfect" bag. I finally said screw it, went into TJMaxx and bought a $20 nylon cheapie. It is ugly as sin, but having both hands free and not having to put my old purse's straps back on my shoulder 100x is amazing.

I have a couple different Le Sport Sac bags, and the Lands End small cross body diaper bag. I like the diaper bag because it has two water bottle pouches, one on each side. The Le Sport Sacs are what I use most of the time.
My youngest just turned 3 and I keep a pair of leggings and undies in my car.
ETA the bigger Le Sport Sac I use is the deluxe every day bag.

Thank you for justifying any future purchase I make.
"halfpint, why did you buy ANOTHER purse?" "BECAUSE IT IS LIFE CHANGING!"
I bought this bag to replace my diaper bag and I love it. I wear it cross body (I got it at MEC). Timbuk2 has a smaller version too if you were thinking of getting something smaller.
I have a leather one from Fossil that I love. I've had it for a couple of years and can't find the same one online. But, I wanted one that was more wide than tall, had a zipper closure and wasn't overly large. It fit the bill and is still in great condition after 2 years of daily abuse.
