If you're crazy than so am I. I wanted to use the same gown that DS wore as his first outfit but I'm not sure that will work since I'm not having a homebirth this time. So I was considering buying shorts & a tshirt in the same print...
We had a wonderful baby boutique on the street behind our apartment when I was pregnant with DS1. They were an outlet for a lot of major brands that have factories in Egypt (under the Nile, old navy, etc) and I got nice things, particularly Under the Nile stuff for pennies. Man I miss that place. I wish I had bought more stuff while I was there.
MIL gave me a bunch of stuff from Kissy Kissy (or is it Kissee Kissee?) for my baby shower with DD. DD came home in one of those outfits in 2008 and DS came home in another of them in 2014.
They were both 0-3 months size. We never used NB size.
I really want a one piece sweater type of thing. I hope I find something from London or Paris. I will frame it after so at least it will get double duty for the $$$.
I have two things like this I just gave away recently (because DS outgrew them). One was by Angel Dear and the other came from Bloomingdales.
If you're really itching for French stuff, Bon Point and Jacadi both have stores in the US. Personally, I'm stocking up on lower budget Du Pareil Au Meme and Monoprix stuff this summer in Paris!
Carters. I didn't know genders so got girl and boy outfits. I had winter babies so got matching hats. They came home 5.5 lbs so the outfits didn't even fit and they wore sleepers
DS wore a Carter's onsie, jacket & and footed pants conbo. I bought a boy and a girl version in newborn sizes. I brought a backup neutral 0-3 sleeper if needed.
I just bought two outfits, one from Carter's and one from Target (but also from their Carter's line). I wasn't sure if it would be easier to use a one-piece sleeper, or a pants/top or onesie combo. Then I wasn't sure if it should be footed or not, long-sleeve or short, hat or no hat, NB or 0-3 months size, etc. So basically I have no idea what I'm doing!

Goodwill. I seriously don't care about stuff like that. The nurses also spilled betadine all over him right before we left so he looked like ass. I'm glad I only paid like a quarter for that outfit after all that. I think the nurse cried because she thought I had picked out that stupid orange striped onesie with the applique bulldog on it intentionally. No, lady, it just happened to fit and I happened to have it.
