Hi there, coming over here for suggestions (I usually am on travel or S&B) I live in Chicago, but am not a major foodie (due to my H's pickiness of eating like a child ) and often hit up the same spots.
Looking for suggestions for a Saturday night meal for my ILs 60th birthdays where we can get reservations for 5 at end of October somewhere in the city.
FIL loves meat. MIL can't eat garlic. FIL is hard of hearing, so it can't be overly loud.
Up to $50/entree. We eat tapas a lot, so we're not interested in that. I looked up Girl and Goat and its not available. SIL/BIL went to RPM Italian and were not impressed, so that's out.
Also looking for night activities, we're considering: -two birds with one stone: dinner boat cruise -Second City show -bowling -roof top bar for drinks (although SIL will be ~24 wks pregnant so we wouln't want that to be an all night event) -movies
Ideas? (Travel suggested Topolobampo, Frontera, Zed 451, Table 52, Pump Room and Salpicon) TIA

I don't live in Chicago, but have gone to a couple of the places mentioned.
Table 52 was a nice quiet place, more Southernish food, but still yummy. Would be good for your FIL since its small.
I went to the Gage for drinks and from what I recall it was pretty loud.
La Madia was the last place I went when I was there. It was a smaller Italian place. Really good wine list and I had a really yummy risotto. It was recommended by a foodie friend who lives there. It also has a bunch of wood fired pizzas. I'm sure your picky husband could get a plain pizza.
I think Joe's Stone Crab meets all your requirements. I know they are great about food allergies and such so the garlic shouldn't be an issue if you mention it. The food has always been good when I go there and I think you can get a lot for $50 per entree or less.

You're good; SIL made a reservation here last night as a back-up plan! Thanks!
