DD does not care about a sippy at all. She is almost 9m and is just uninterested. She throws it on the floor every.single.time I give it to her. I thought I saw someone post about a strap you can hook to the sippy so it just dangles from the highchair, is there such a thing?
When will she start to actually care about a sippy? I'm a little nervous because she is switching daycares at exactly 1 year old and she cannot take bottles there- only sippy cups. I will hopefully still be nursing so if all else fails she will reverse cycle.
This has been on my mind too. My kids are 8 mos and neither care. DS loves straws but isn't drinking. I've bought a few kinds of sippy cups and they just stare at them. I'm hoping it will just click one day as I'm determined to cut bottles at a year as well since I want to stop pumping.
Have you tried giving a little juice or chocolate milk in the sippy? That helped give DS incentive to learn. We didn't get out of the throwing stage until very recently- 20ish months.
Aj gave like less than zero craps about drinking from anything from a bottle until he was maybe 11 months and even then his interest was minimal. I'd keep offering and cross your fingers for now (at least that's what I did).
M (10.5 mo) drinks out of his sippy occasionally but mostly throws it. We have the SippyGrip that pinot posted, but he still throws it...this just makes it dangle from his high chair instead of flying across the room LOL.
