In my state, it's 10% of something less than gross income (can't remember what they subtract out, but it's a little higher than regular net income) for the first child, so yes, I think that's low.

It's a crazy formula - ours here is based highly upon the number of overnights the father has. Your amount is similar to mine, but I have one child and earn about the same as my XH, so there isn't a big salary discrepency.

Does that include what he should be paying toward daycare? In CA daycare is a different payment. Also, what is your time split and how much less do you make than him? If I were getting CS, it would be about $250 a month + part of daycare, but I make more then ex.

I get slightly less than that a month from a man who makes about $36,000 per year - and I make more than he does. So, yeah, that seems ridiculously low! Especially if you're paying for daycare, health insurance, etc.

If I remember your ex is military. They likely didn't include a lot of the benefits (housing allowance, etc) in the calculation just him cash pay. Sorry.

If your ex is military, can't you get some sort of advice from the jag office on base as a dependent/former dependent? They might be able to advise you and your non-military lawyer how to get you the best package available.
And if he is military, that can work in your favor. They are pretty strict with making sure child support is paid on time from what I have heard.
that is low for the income you provide I am curious.. it seems like his FTE base salary probably does not include his housing expenses since finance is handled by different departments so maybe they calculated off of a smaller income amount which is his payroll only?
My ex makes less than that and he was initially ordered to pay almost $900/month. We worked on a lower agreement though. The amount you mention seems rather low, is there a small disparity between your salaries?
