We went for H's work trip, but since all charges were initially made on our credit card I am able to share the cost breakdown. We did not really do sit down meals (just one) but snacked all day and were not shy about using counter service meals when we were hungry. We flew non-stop from Boston to Long Beach, CA and parked our car in the expensive lot at Logan.
5 days in the parks (non-Park Hopper), 2 adults, free child: $550
Flights - non-stop from Boston, 3 seats: $1,253
Hotel - 5 nights off site in a 2 room kids suite at the local Courtyard, includes on site parking for the rental car and daily bus transportation to park: $1,049
Rental Car: $165
Food - includes airport food, in parks, at hotel, trip to Target for water bottles, etc: $450
I'm impressed your food was so cheap. That's impressive. Did your hotel have a free breakfast or did you have a kitchen?
The "food" line does include a trip to Target where we picked up fruit, muffins, bagels, milk for DD and bottled water. We also mostly survived on churros and soft pretzels all week.

We were there from Friday June 5th through Tuesday June 9th. It was great! Disneyland was really crowded, but DCA wasn't as bad. I think part of the problem was that we did Disneyland on Friday and Sunday - there were a lot of High School Grad Nights going on. That being said, we weren't there for the "big" rides because I am pregnant and DD is a scaredy cat, so we didn't wait more than 15 minutes for anything we wanted to do .
Wow that is a lot more affordable than I would have thought!
Our family has a FL condo so we stay offsite when we go but don't have the advantage of the bus. I may have to have DH try and convince his dad to sell the place and buy something closer since this is cheaper than owning!

Nice we are planning to go in Sep-Oct. Did you do any character meal?
We did Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast and my husband loved the food. I think the fact he got fried chicken and pizza for breakfast made him happy and we were both pleasantly surprised at the quality.
Thor loved it. There's Goofy, Chip'n Dale, and Minnie who come table to table and since we were in the first seating of the day at the ungodly hour of 7am, we got a lot of attention.
My husband loved it so much he requested to go again this September.
Thanks! I was thinking of maybe the Minnie one inside DL since we are staying outside the park and it might be easier logistically.
