NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Dick Van Patten, the actor perhaps best known for his portrayal of Tom Bradford on the 80’s TV show “Eight Is Enough,” died Tuesday morning of complications from diabetes. Van Patten was 86 years old.
Van Patten was born in Kew Gardens, Queens in 1928. He made his Broadway debut at 7 years old in 1935’s “Tapestry In Gray.” He went on to appear in 27 other Broadway shows.
Van Patten had a lengthy career in television, appearing first in the 1949-1957 series “I Remember Mama.” He starred on “The New Dick Van Dyke Show,” “When Things Were Rotten” and “WIOU.” Van Patten also made numerous appearances as a guest star on various shows, including “Sanford and Son,” Adam 12,” “Emergency!,” “The Love Boat,” “Happy Days,” “Family Guy,” “That 70s Show,” “Hot In Cleveland,” along with many others.
He also appeared in Mel Brooks’ “High Anxiety,” “Spaceballs,” and “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.”
Van Patten has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Patricia Van Patten and sons Nels, Jimmy and Vincent.

Don't worry, they're not people who would be close to 100 now. I only wiki people who I know have to be at least 85 years old and haven't been acting or doing anything for a long time, hence I'm there wondering, "Hey, whatever happened to Dick Van Patten, is he still alive?"
As long as I see The Fonz in his reverse mortgage commercials, it's all good.
