I just got asked to interview - tomorrow - for a position. Do you still go with the traditional black suit for the first meeting? If I had to guess there will be a first interview and a potential second given how they worded the email. Thoughts?
I would still wear a skirted suit or a shift dress with jacket. Take the jacket off until you get into the building for the interview, so you don't get it sweaty! Maybe short sleeve blouse instead of long sleeve button up.
I would still wear a suit, yes. I mean it seems likely that you will be going from air conditioned air to air conditioned interview site and the heat shouldn't be an issue. Good Luck!

I live in Atlanta, and when it's hot as hell, I wear a tan suit. Anyone who will judge me for not wearing a long sleeve black suit along with my hose and heels in the 93 degree humid weather is not anyone I'm willing to work for.
As for the outfit, a skirt suit or shift dress with blazer should be okay. If you have a lightweight suit, that could work with a sleeveless shell and then throw on the jacket before heading in to the interview.
I'd wear a skirted suit. Or if you don't want to do that at least a suit skirt with a tucked in button up. When I first was interviewing I didn't have a suit but then again I was only applying for office coordinator jobs. So maybe they weren't expecting a suit for that anyway. And I haven't interviewed in a decade. So things have probably changed a lot since my interviewing days. Good luck!
Yay that's super exciting!! Go knock their socks off! Without knowing your industry well, being in Colorado, I would say a nice dress with a blazer over it would be more than acceptable. We're such a casual state that I wouldn't blink an eye at anyone wearing a light colored dress with a colorful blazer over it.

We are casual and knowing this is a nonprofit, it is likely very casual. Oh decisions!
