I'm just into the 3rd tri, it's almost 100 degrees out today and my ankles are super swollen for the first time this pregnancy. And I just feel super tired and my stomach feels like it weighs 50lbs and I've been having random BH contractions.
Welcome to being pregnant in the summer, I guess. Yay!
Today was one of my worst parenting days. Logically I know I'm not a terrible parent, but hell do I feel like one today. I cried in the shower after M finally fell asleep.
(((Hugs))) I'm sorry you had a rough day too. I yelled at DS to stop crying (he was doing the head on the floor butt in the air 1/2 cry 1/2 pout) and "bring me the fucking book" about 30 minutes before bedtime today
namasteak I don't have a PMP or similar but I know many who do. I definitely think if you want to be a PM, it is worth the cost / commitment. Pretty much every PM I know has one. My boss's boss also has one and says it is a PITA to keep up on continuing education (when PM is not his primary responsibility), so he may let it lapse.
I have heard the test is hard - not as hard as a CPA but on par with some of the other harder speciality exams.
DH is management consultant but one of the few people at his level that doesn't not have PMP or an MBA. IMO it would be a good career move since he does a lot of PM and it would increase his earning potential. But I do think he would get really annoyed at all the CEs.
Not concerned about the test being hard ... DH is really smart (speaks 5 languages, and missed 2 questions on the GRE without studying) and good at tests so I'm sure he would pass.

I forgot we were due around the same time! Was your last pregnancy during the summer? DS was born in January so I'm surprised at how much their tri in the summer sucks. We can get through this right?!
I am so mad right now. My phone has been acting kind of weird lately but tonight I went for a long walk and it wouldn't stay on. It kept restarting. Then every time it restarted it told me I have 3 new texts from people but won't let me check the messages. I can't open any apps or anything. This phone isn't even a year old. I pay insurance on it monthly and frankly I expect a working phone. I'm going in tomorrow morning right when they open and I'm not leaving without a working phone.
Does anyone have a project manager certification and care to share your experience? Several of DH's bosses think he has one and he hasn't been staffed on several projects because he doesn't. I think he wants to do it but is concerned about the time commitment and cost.
The exam is a different beast than others (I also test well). He needs to take a week boot camp, study for a weekend or two, then take the exam.
We found a "tree guy" much cheaper than what we were quoted by our friend. He said all 6 trees cut and hauled away for $850! And DH checked to see if he was insured. He comes tomorrow! Our pool dig date got moved back a week, but we are meeting with the pool guy tomorrow because he has some ideas that will knock a little money off the cost. We just might be able to have a pool bday party for DD in August.
And thanks to MMM Fitbit challenges I have 16k steps today. First time ever!
I called my OB today for a prescription for Xanax or some other anti-anxiety med. I've been having what I think are anxiety attacks lately about P's medical stuff and I just can't cope AND be a functional employee/mother at the same time. I hope it helps.

I've just been looking at some organizational blogs and one of them has a daily cleaning schedule....... 75 minutes per day. Lol, no. I'd rather live in filth.

Maybe this would be a good thing to do early 2016 since we will have a NB in September.

Lol for DAYS! I can barely manage 30 minutes total/day.

Yeah I didn't want to be a jackass but this is also what I heard. There are some tests (SAT, GRE, GMAT) that are mainly about your IQ and there are some tests where you really need to put in the work to know the right answer (CPA, PMP, CISSP, etc.). Of course if you are a good test taker it makes it way easier to pass but you can't just waltz in an expect to pass without doing the work.
No offense taken. I do think that he expects to study for a weekend and then pass the test though.

I hope it helps. You've got a lot on your plate. I have no idea what support is available for moms of kids with craniosynostosis, but I would be happy to connect you with a friend whose son had surgery for it a few years ago if it would help. (Not to be a creeper but FB told me you guys already both like one of the same pages.)

DS1 was November and DS2 was July, so I've had a summer baby before.
I'm just happy this past year we moved to a house with a pool!
Dropped a package off at UPS today. Can't stop thinking about this poor man in front of me who was trying to send his wife's remains to her parents in India. He burst into tears when the UPS woman told him that she couldn't legally wrap nor ship remains because it was a liability and that he needed to go to a funeral home to do that. Ugh.
You guys. My Lands End swim bottoms came today. I'm super excited that ZERO belly will show, but DH and I cannot stop laughing.
This is probably not what you intended, but I seriously want to buy this suit now. I've never been a tankini person because I feel like the one pieces do all the more sucking in/even fat distribution, but these! I could do these!
Do it! The top is really flattering and I'm not worried about anything showing.
I had grand plans to go to the gym at 9 pm every night after putting J to bed. It has happened precisely zero nights. Tonight he fell asleep at 9 and I just rocked him in the dark for 45 minutes. It was so peaceful.
Tomorrow is my Friday because we leave for SIL's wedding Thursday morning! I am afraid to think about now early we need to wake up that day to get all of us out the door by 6:30 a.m.
Any tips on stuff to pack that I may not have thought of? For example, I almost forgot about dish soap for the bottles.

Try to think through the steps of everything you're packing (like, if I pack my pump, I might need a cooler, ice pack, all the parts + a ziploc bag, extra bottles to store milk, the battery pack, etc).
Babies are pretty easy to pack for - they eat, sleep, and get diapers changed. Formula, bottles, bottle brush/dish soap, formula dispenser?, water to make bottles?, pack of diapers, pack of wipes, baby soap, pjs for each day + an extra, outfits for each day + a few backups (depends on if you tend to need a lot of wardrobe changes), swaddle blankets, place for baby to sleep, pacifier.
Go to Target or Wal-Mart in a pinch for whatever you forget.
