What home security system do you have? Do your like it?
Our cars were broken into in our driveway. They left MH's computer but took change, cell charger, etc. We're unnerved enough that I think we're going to get an alarm system for the house. When we brought it it had this system that you had like 5 seconds to get in door and turn it off before it the loud alarm went off and I hated it. Is this how all systems are?
We have ADT. It's okay but it was expensive to install and it's more per month than I would have expected. I think it's a waste of money but MH insists on it.
ETA we control it via apps on our phones so you can set the alarm and turn it off from the driveway.

We have Simply Safe. You buy what you want, install it yourself (SUPER easy) and it is cheap. The plans range from $15-$25/month. You have 1 min of in/out time. It is all cell based so no landline needed. The $25/mo plan sends you text messages when the alarm is turned off and on. We have a key fob we can use too, though we don't (it is kind of big and bulky). You can also control it from the internet/app so if you forget to arm it, you can do it remotely (with the $25 plan only, I think). We can also set multiple pin codes for different people. So our cleaners have one, a friend has one, so you can tell who is coming and going.

Are you under a contract? We were looking at systems and I saw with some there are 2 year contracts.
We have SimpliSafe too, and love it so far. I also like that you can set it to chime whenever one of the sensors is opened. I'm seeing that will be handy when DS is older and can open/close doors and windows.
We do. We had a monitored system for a few years, but weren't happy with them so we canceled and just continued to set the alarm as a deterrent. It will still go off it just won't alert anyone since it isn't monitored. It works for us.
We have our home security through Comcast. It's a bit more expensive than other options but I think our equipment and install were free. And it's bundled with our internet and cable.
We've had a few issues with it, but they've always sent someone out to fix it or we've been able to troubleshoot via online chat or phone.
We have a 60 second delay. We can arm through the key pad, an app, or the touch screen control center that's on our kitchen counter. We can also adjust the temp and control some lighting with the app or control center. We have two cameras which we use to check on our dog during the day.

We also have and love SimpliSafe. We've had it for almost 3 years now. In addition to the alarm making us feel more secure, we have the water sensor, too, and that saved us a lot of money in damages last year when a pipe burst because DH was able to get home within minutes of getting the phone call and text. It also has a panic button, and you can set a duress PIN.
I don't think there's a contract required for SimpliSafe.
I really wish we would have gotten Simplisafe. We have SecureNet and it's way more expensive than Simplisafe would have been, plus we're under a THREE year contract, which is crazy to me. I was in newborn haze of being crazy about safety and didn't care about the contract or how much it cost, just wanted something right away.

What was the equipment cost for Simplisafe? nevermind I looked it up.
We have Vivint but is sounds like Simplisafe has all or most of the features we have but we pay well over 2x the cost of Simplisafe. We use an app to turn off and on our alarm, fobs are available,
