For my lunch break, I wanted to try to find a decent salad (everything around me is fast food and I kind of work in the 'hood.) So, I decided to order from a place that had good reviews, and I used my entire lunch to do it (drove downtown about 10 minutes away, pain in the butt parking, etc.). The salad just ending up being okay - kind of a disappointment- oh well! But definitely not terrible and everything was fresh.
The worst part is, I took a coworker with me. Money is tight for her, but she ordered food over the phone with this place, then when she found out chicken was an additional $4 I could tell it was going to be a little awkward at the place (she can kind of make a scene a little bit). So anyway I just paid for her food too ($12! if she couldn't afford it she shouldn't have ordered food...) Anyway, the kicker is we get back to the office and she complains the entire time about how it's not good, there isn't enough dressing, she hates the red lettuce, jack in the box would have been better. She sat there all sullen stabbing at her food with her fork and making a big show of picking out the red lettuce. And the entire time I am trying not to scream at her WELL IT'S A GOOD THING YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR IT!!!
OK. That's all. Thanks for listening. *takes a deep breath*
Haha ok I'm laughing because one of my best friends did this once and I literally did "scream" that at her and then we laughed about it. Sometimes people just have no sense of appreciation! I would be mortified if I came across like this to someone who just bought my lunch but some people just don't think about it. Annoying!!
That would annoy me. This situation sounds really similar in that DH works with somebody that's the same way and will justify why they should be ripping the man off in the end. Like the guy just drinks water from the machine but then dumps it out and gets soda because the water looks 'hazy'.
Geez! I get not being happy with the food, but to sulk over when you didn't even pay for it!?! If there's anything I learned from college, its that free food is ALWAYS good!

I just think it's really rude. I can't imagine acting so ungrateful if someone else paid for it! If there was something wrong with it like the chicken was raw or the lettuce was all rotten and nasty, fine, complain away! But it was fine just not what she wanted.
I've paid for her water several times when we walk down to the store and I am not going to do it anymore!
Like, yesterday, I walked down with her and another coworker who were getting food from panda express. She ordered something and they gave her 5 shrimp- decent sized! And she complained about how she was paying $8 for a bowl of rice and 5 shrimp. I didn't say anything but if you put all that shrimp together it was bigger than a chicken breast! More than enough food.
Haha ok, I'm done. As in done complaining I have a headache now... lol
Yes, it's totally rude! I think I meant to say, my friend acted like this and I called her out and she sort of snapped out of it. She didn't realize how rude she was being (which blows my mind, but whatever).
I agree, I wouldn't foot the bill if she's always this ungrateful. Not cool!
