We go swimming on a military base which is awesome except for tonight when they fired 12 shots from a cannon terrifying DS and making him sob while covering his ears. We had a talk about how loud noises can't hurt us. Then he tells me that the cannons would hurt if they shot us with them, which is true. I think i convinced him no one would shoot us.
Speaking of which the kids at school taught him all about guns and now everything is a gun. Each time i go into class they are all shooting each other. When DS sees me he looks guilty and immediately tells everyone we don't shoot people. I think i want to talk to the teacher about how she handles gun play. I know it is something kids do, but i feel like it should be discouraged or something.
DD and I had a fun day but we kind of skipped lunch, whoops. We went to Barnes and Noble to play in the kids area, they picked up our online order and shopped the clearance rack at Hanna Andersson. Then we went and saw Inside Out and chowed down on popcorn, then we went to the dinosaur museum with fortmyersbride and her kids. Lots of fun!
early bedtime for her tonight since she had no nap, then I need to finish painting her dollhouse. Her bday is in 2 weeks!!!
We got a fourth opinion today that thankfully agrees with the doctor we trust most who recommended surgery. It's a weird thing to be happy about I guess, but it is nice to have a little clarity and consensus finally, KWIM?
I am waiting in the pharmacy drive-through to pick up a prescription for Vistaril. My OB would not prescribe Xanax or Ativan because I'm BFing. I hope it helps.
Oh, I got a bra turned into a nursing bra at Nordstrom and it doesn't have the little elastic doohickey that keeps the strap from disappearing. It should have that, right?
Can you find a picture? I don't know what you're talking about.

Tonight was much better than last. I came home from work and took a short nap. My mom picked up M from daycare and brought me Chipotle. She really is the best.
We have a neighbor/acquaintance who is allegedly a pet psychic. I'm kind of tempted to consult her about my dog who just got diagnosed with lymphoma. I know it's mostly or entirely woo, but in addition to lymphoma she's gone almost entirely deaf pretty fast. It had been going and then whammo, gone. So now I'm just sad she can't hear me tell her I love her and it's going to be okay and stuff.
Probably woo but who cares? It's your money. I say it can't hurt. I paid someone to encapsulate my placenta and then I ate it so I vote do what makes you feel comfortable so long as you can afford it. Sorry about your dog.
Is Aquarius any good? I need a new show for DH and I to watch. We've reached the end of television.
Also tonight during dinner, my ordinarily pretty lazy child took it upon himself to climb all 42 stairs to his bedroom by himself because I said the word "tunnel" and he remembered the tunnel we built this morning.

Has that started? I remember seeing previews and wanting to try it!

What do you all think?
This is a hard one but IME all kids go through this from time to time.
I do think it should be discouraged but sometimes the more you ban stuff like this the more fun it becomes

There's 12 episodes on Hulu so I may have to watch them just to postpone the "what shall we watch?" decision by 12 hours.
we are on day 10 this month of my h traveling. we have 3 more days. i am SO done.
L is crazy. she never stops climbing EVERYTHING and obviously she doesn't care about safety. when she isn't climbing she's running around and is never quiet. i cannot resort to screens because a) they make her whiny and annoying b)she sits for about 2 minutes watching them now. i used to get 10, maybe? we spend almost all day outside so she gets energy out and it doesn't matter.
oh, and she hasn't succeeded (or come too close for comfort) at climbing out of the crib but she's trying. i swear if she does it when my h is away i will cry.
I love Athleta. Their stuff is kind of pricey IMO so I never buy it but I love looking at the catalog. I am sure this is not the intent, but so much of their stuff seems like the ultimate in "mom clothes" - casual but cute and definitely not the "f word" lol. I may have to start buying stuff soon lol.
My nieces are at Frozen camp this week. What the hell is that?
I fell down that rabbit hole a couple weeks ago. I even had a whole conversation with the sales lady about how I could not believe I was paying full price for something. I justify my new found love by the fact it isn't Lululemon who is smoking crack with their prices.
and because I think you should come over to the dark side I highly recommend the La viva capris and the city joggers.

I liked it. Fios had the entire season up at once on demand so i watched in a few days. I thought it was interesting, but think it would have been fine as a mini series.
We had a horrible night tonight. She hasn't been sleeping well this week and tonight I let her go to vacation bible school from 6 to 830. It's too late so I didn't want her to go But I told her we would try. She was a fucking mess tonight. Screaming, kicking, etc. She isn't going back tomorrow and she's pissed. That's hateful of me but she can't handle That much in one day.

Yeah i am not even sure how to discourage it. Plus a lot of the other parents are military...which complicates things
Once I changed out of my vagina shirt I had a good day.
Got lots done at home while DD was at daycare. The house is totally clean and I'm almost done packing. We played with the neighbors until it was bedtime. DD went done pretty easily which is good because last night was rough.
I forgot to have the DVR record Big Brother until about 20 minutes in. I haven't checked but I doubt it went back and started recording from the beginning. Darn it!!
H's phone screen went well. He's going to have a phone interview next week. If that goes well, he'll probably have to go to NYC for an in-person. Squee!

Those are the ones I was looking at! I feel like they are chic versions of yoga pants.
I'm going to justify it since I don't buy a lot of work clothes anymore since I'm only in the office two days a week. I need cute WFH clothes lol.
You are speaking my language - that was how I justified my purchases. I needed something to wear other then my workout wear on my WAH days. Do it!!!

They have pretty frequent sales.
I will disagree and say that the chaturanga capris are the best!

I have plans to drink a nice glass of wine and finally watch Pitch Perfect, but I sit in Nods room with her until she falls asleep and she keeps shuffling.

My husband had a work thing, so the plan was for me to take the kids to the pool and then out to dinner.
We had a great time at the pool, but the bike had a flat, so we had to stay at the pool until I was able to fix it. My kids were hungry and grumpy, so there was all sorts of drama that is amusing now, but crazy at the time. I found the hole, the staple that created the hole, patched the tube, put it all back together, and then realized my pump was broken.
A parent from Ada's school let me go get her pump from her house (she couldn't leave, because there was a swim meet) and watched Ada for me. Once I got the pump, everything went well.
We ended up going straight home and I made them English Muffin pizza.
1.My course is awful. Professor sucks; hasn't returned grades on 4 assignments, never returns emails, clinical component is a joke.
2. My job is frustrating. We're chronically understaffed. The drama is high. The tasks are menial. I work too much and I'm far too bored.
3. My 3 year old makes me feel as if I should never have become a parent. I do not know how to parent. For example: he has a cough and, at night, has coughing spells where he can't catch his breath or he gags. IDK what to do. I bring him water. He won't take a sip (FTR, if he were to take a sip it usually stops the spell right away). I get frustrated. He's crying. I keep trying. It doesn't work. I walk out. He cries more. Idk wtf to do.
4. I haven't had a full day off at the same time as my H since March. It's getting old. Can we speed up time to January please?

Oh jealous - apart this part anyway - I love English muffin pizza but DH has an irrational hatred of it so I never make any. I'm gonna make it my go to maternity leave snack now.

Just stop it. Both of you. I do NOT need to be reading this right now when I will need new workout stuff after the baby comes. I haven't bought myself new stuff in so long. La la la - can't hear you. I'm just never going to actually go into the store. I've successfully passed it numerous times.
