I don't like pro pics when a bunch of shit from someone's rich great aunt's parlor is thrown in a field. Seriously, you don't need a settee, a antique trunk, a violin and a large basket of seasonally appropriate fruit to photograph your kids in a clearing of wildflowers.
I am reading Holly Madison's new book. It's facinating and ridiculous all at once. She comes off as a raving bitch playing victim. Yet I can't put it down.
We flew across the country to try to find and buy a house in a week. We leave Saturday and have found nothing. I'm tired, and nauseated, and it's fucking hot on the east coast and I'm just so sick of the ten hour days driving around and looking at homes.
House hunting sucks.
I remember when we did this years ago in hindsight we should have rented for a year. Is that an option?
I think it is crappy a facility has to pay for every boo boo a person incurs on their property. If a kid falls because equipment or a box was left out that makes sense, but a kid running because Mom was late getting them there and falls and hurts themselves just rubs me wrong.
I agree but I'm curious if there's a story here or if you're just speaking generally

I think I would do this. Unless you already know the exact town/school district you want to live in. I'd hate to make the mistake of buying the wrong house when I didn't know the area.

I didn't think I would be interested in the book, but she did an interview on Wendy W. yesterday that made me wonder "what's in that book?!?!"
I was just coming here to post this exact thing. Super high temperatures, sky rocket high humidity, and feels like temps in triple digits for months on end. School break gets old after 4 weeks yet it lasts for 16 weeks (preschool level only--public school is shorter). Way too much together time with DD. Camps and fun stuff we want to do are $$$. What on earth is there to like? I loathe summer and dread it every year.
That actually brings me to my next UO. I would love for year round school to be a thing everywhere. I think small breaks of 3-5 weeks scattered throughout the year would be so much better than a 3 month break.
Very unpopular in MN but I'm starting to like winter more than summer. I'm turning into a whip that can't stand the heat. B apparently agrees and whines whenever he is in the direct sun.
YH must love that. (Clearly autocorrect fail, and I have the sense of humor of a 12yo boy)

Is this a UO? I LOVE summer. Yes, I miss the preschool break, and my kids are fighting like cage match wrestlers, and sleeping at weird times and it's hot. But, the kids beg to go outside first thing in the morning and get absolutely filthy in their pajamas while I drink coffee in the sun. We spend all afternoon at the water park or pool or trade off neighborhood backyards, and I can hang out with my mom friends (and maybe sip cocktails) while the kids run themselves ragged. Impromptu cookouts and ice cream dates and adventures to far away museums or attractions. I love getting to see our friends who are hard see because of school schedules or work schedules. And my cache of babysitters increases like ten fold because school is out.
Now, ask me after this heatwave we are supposed to get and I may join the grumpy summer camp, but at the moment, juat call me Suzy Sunshine.
If we could have 6 months of May weather and then 6 months of October weather all year round, I'd be in heaven. but I much, much, MUCH prefer summer in July/August over winter in February. even if it's hot, there's soooooo much more to do around here.

I hate summer. This is the first year I have truly enjoyed the time with my kids they are at a really fun age and the days zoom by. I love having them home but hate the heat.
I have the right to change this opinion in two weeks.

Me too. I can always put on more clothes, but I can only get so naked.
And C is with B. Even in the car "mommy, sun." anytime he is in some part sun.
I'm totally saving all these "i hate summer, it's too hot" posts for February when we've all had 26-inches of snow dropped on us in one storm.
Nope. In the winter here we actually stay outside all day and time flies. I will never complain about winter. Or "winter". LOL. DD has never seen snow. This makes her sad.

I can get on board with this. I hate the heat, but know what I love? Setting DS up with a big bucket of water to play in while I sit on the patio in the shade in nothing but a flimsy ol' sundress drinking a frosty (and by frosty I mean stiff) beverage. Did I mention I'm doing that right now?

Love summer. There's something about a relaxed schedule, stick Popsicle fingers and the smell of sunscreen. Yep! Love it. I hate laundry therefore I'm going commando in my maxi dress today, but I will suggest that to the summer haters. It helps haha

Yep, me too - stretchy sundress with no bra or underwear FTW - aaaah, it makes it all worthwhile....!
