When my parents moved from LA to GA approximately 36 years ago, they had my older brother, then an infant, in cardboard box on the seat between them in the UHaul/moving truck.

omfg.
We did love to play the "anyway game" in the early 90s - we'd sit in the trunk area of my mom's station wagon and roll any way the car would take us for the whole ride home!
Oh FFS! Which reminds me of a super judgmental moment I had yesterday. I saw a woman pushing a bassinet-type stroller (you know, for infants). A baby was sitting straight up, leaning against the back of the bassinet, not strapped in at all. WTF? I wanted to say something, but honestly couldn't muster my "I'm intervening because I care" voice vs. my "what is wrong with you" voice.
