Bing cherries were on sale for $4.99 a pound recently. I was getting organic for about $7.99 a pound but most of our local organic cherries seem to be done for the season so I've moved on to plums, peaches and melons.
Okay so what I pay doesn't seem outrageous. I just paid $4.99 lb for sweet red cherries
Around here that's a really good price and we live pretty darn close to lots of cherry orchards. It's not uncommon to see them upwards of $8.00lb (organic)
Further proof I am probably unrealistically cheap. I almost always only but at Costco for $2.99/lb. Bing cherries/dark sweet. I don't care for Mt. Rainer. At the regular stores I might do $3.49/lb.

3.99/lb. Cherries are expensive but so dang worth it.
Funny story: When I first started living alone, I went grocery shopping and saw a huge bag of cherries for $3.99. So I thought "dang that's a great price. I wonder why my grandma always complained cherries are expensive?" Well when I got home and checked my receipt, I just paid $15 for cherries. I didn't realize it was per lb. Blonde moment much?!
Probably 4.99 lb here. Dumb question: what is the best way to pit cherries? I always seem to make a cherry juice mess.
Eat them and spit the put out. I've seen them between $6.99 and 4.99/lb recently and they're only around for like three months. I'm not going to miss a drop
You put the whole thing in and spit the pit out when you're done. Or you can get a cherry pitter. I use that if I'm baking with them or before the kids are old enough to get the pit thing.

Organic red cherries are $4.99/lb this week. I'm pretty sure the Raniers are priced similarly. Our neighbor has a tree, though, and just brought over a big bowl of Raniers for us. So, free this week.

I don't buy red cherries, but if I can find Rainier cherries I will buy them regardless of price. It's one of very few grocery splurges that I make unapologetically. They're usually $7.99-$9.99 at the regular grocery store, but when Sam's Club has them they're more like $5.99 a pound.
So no coffee, no vegetables (that was you, right?) and no cherries
What is wrong with your taste buds?
She doesn't like chocolate either.
Not true! I just don't LOVE chocolate. If you offer me a Snickers or a Starburst, I'll take the Starburst every time. But if you offer me a selection of truffles, I will take them all.
