No, I'm not defriending any of you
So with the SSM ruling today, it's mostly been amazing to see all the happiness all over FB. But there are a couple people, one in particular, that keeps posting hateful things and honestly, I'm sick of it. If you don't agree, fine, but don't be hateful and condescending about it. The other person posted something racist this morning. Like, blatantly racist. And then posted some rant about people being too offended about things. Ugh. Anyways, these are two former coworkers who I generally like most of the time, but I just can't deal with some of the crap they post. I'm not against defriending as I did it with two other people recently (one barely talks to me other than hassling me to buy her nail crap and the other is a sexist pig who whines about being a "nice guy" that can't find a girl). I'm just torn. I don't want to deal with the possible drama of deleting them but I just don't want such hateful people in my life.
So WWYD or what have you done in this situation? I know it's just FB, not the end of the world or anything. I'm not really thinking THAT hard about this, I'm just curious what other people think
If I have to interact with someone civilly again, but they deserve to be defriended, I compromise by changing them to acquaintance so they can't see my wall and I don't see their crap.
If I won't be seeing them again, or don't have to put up a good front, then defriending is A-OK!
(so I guess that makes me a SS since I don't know how you'll see them again)

I probably won't really, other than maybe running into them somewhere. I talk to both of them occasionally by way of FB comments (racist guy was recently giving me house hunting advice) but it's not like I'm grabbing lunch to catch up with these people or anything.

Then I'd definitely delete. I deleted a person recently for racist remarks and if I ever see them again (which is unlikely) I will have no problem telling them why.
I would defriend, as these are not people you regularly interact with. The drama potential is very minimal, so I think it would be good riddance! and you're done.
I agree with the others. I'd defriend. If you had daily or weekly interaction then maybe just hiding them would suffice but in this case I see no issue with just deleting them!
If you're concerned about drama, just unfollow them. You're still friends but you never have to see their posts pop up again.
I have a current coworker that is so far right, I can't even see her in the distance (this coming from someone who leans right and typically votes republican). I found that you can even click on the arrow by a post, click I don't like this post, and then you have the option to view less posts by a certain person. This is awesome for people who share 100 posts a day.

That's exactly what these two people are, haha. They are both the perfect example of an extreme right wing person. Funny story.. the guy posted some video that apparently has a black girl attacking a white girl (I didn't watch it) and said "stereotypes come from somewhere". That was the post that seriously pissed me off. Well, the other person (who has been sharing a bunch of "Jesus thinks gay marriage is wrong" stuff) shared the same video, haha. Ugh. I think I might just unfollow. Like I said, I generally like these people most of the time. I'm too much of a wimp to explain it to them when they ask why I deleted them!
