It finally cooled off for good. Well, at least this upcoming week. Mid 70s and breezy. Might take a walk later.
DH and I are having a coffee date this afternoon. We are out of coffee at home (horror!) I also need to return some sandals to Macy's. If anyone has some summer sandals they are loving, I need some recs!

We are going to a family reunion on H's side today! We finally get to have both little ones together (H's cousin has a son 6 weeks younger than E) so that will be fun! I'm hoping the rain stays away because it's outside. I think there is a picnic shelter so that will be fine. A year ago we were at the cousin's wedding when it was pouring harder than I've ever seen so as long as it's not like that, I think we'll be fine
Today I have some cleaning to do but otherwise I'm not sure yet. It's been a while since we went to garage sales - I miss it! In my area they start on Thursdays.
I slept in so late today. It was wonderful!!! I made myself a delicious hot chocolate and breakfast, now watching a little chick flick while doing some research online.
It's gloomy and rainy here. It's so peaceful. H works for only a few hours today so when he gets home around 4 we are going to go grocery shopping.
DH has been waking me up on the weekends for no good reason. This morning it was at 6:30. Ugh! I even told him I wanted to sleep in since I didn't get to yesterday.
It's almost noon and I am almost done being mad at him. Almost. Going to get out of the house for a bit. I don't want to, but we are out of food in this house.
My next-door neighbors are having a birthday party for their kids with a bouncy house. There are a lot of guests. Anyway, I have a corner house, and some guests are parking on the side street by my back yard. So I just saw a woman pushing a stroller right through the middle of my back yard with her two kids in tow. I have a gigantic 12"x18" "BEWARE OF DOG - Dog is contained by an invisible fence" sign hanging on my house for all to see. My yard is filled with poop. I don't know what possesses people to do this. There is a perfectly good sidewalk that goes from where she parked her car to my neighbor's house, amazing! But she chose to get dog poop all over her stroller wheels and her and her kids' shoes....

We are resting up from H's competition yesterday. We have to go mow his grandma's grass at some point today, but neither of us are really motivated to leave the house. We will catch up on Big Brother tonight before it airs again and just be lazy.

Lazy day here. Both C and I are recovering from the flu. Trying to nap when C naps but thanks to my lovely neighbor it's not happening. I'm about to go take a picture of him working on someone else's car and send it to code enforcement...so tired of living next to a mechanic shop (totally clouded by not feeling well and just wanting to take a nap).
Costco is my new favorite place. Everywhere I've looked has priced a 6 month supply of my contacts at around $140, but I finally went to Costco today and they offered me a full year supply for $90! I LOVE COSTCO!

So the get together was inside actually which is good because it started pouring as everyone was leaving. I had to run to the car holding an umbrella over the stroller with both canopies closed and he still got wet! Poor kid! It was good to see everyone though. Now we're on our way home.
I also bought a piece of pizza at Costco today. I took off all of the toppings and cheese so I only ate the crust/sauce, and I think it may have been the best piece of pizza I've ever eaten (translation: my first piece of pizza since January).
I don't regret it yet, but we'll see what happens.
My IL's are here giving input on everything from our baby name choices to what kind of backsplash finishes we need to go for. My parents don't even weigh in on paint colors.
luv2rn4fun and bk1 hope you ladies feel better soon!!

I keep looking at one of the houses we looked at yesterday. I can't make decisions, haha. I don't want to jump on one of the first things we see, but I really like it. The only things I don't like is that there are only 2 bedrooms upstairs (there is a third off the living room on the main floor) and there is no dishwasher. We could potentially put one in under the stairs where there is currently a built in microwave cubby and cabinets underneath. The cabinets kinda suck there because they're practically on the floor so I'm not opposed to removing that. We can use a stand for the microwave if needed or maybe eventually install one above the stove.
Anyways, I've been thinking a lot about it and feel excited about the big yard, big deck, big garage, and almost the whole house is updated. I want it but I keep thinking what if something better comes along? Ugh! We just started, do we really want to jump into it?
estrellita We bought the second house we looked at. It just felt right. Of course we picked a house that needed a lot of work but it always felt right.

This is the second house we looked at, lol. It doesn't need much work which is great for us. I really want to go for it but I'm so nervous! I just don't want to regret it later.

If you go for it, do not Google other houses. The one I really liked in my hometown had accepted another offer while we were in process of writing one up. Turns out owner later decided not to sell. I randomly googled it the other day and they relisted it. Now I'm bummed a bit because it'd only be fifteen mins from my parents instead of an hour. H likes the one we're currently under contract on bc it is newer. The only plus I see on the new one is that while it's further from my folks, it's also further from ILs.

It never hurts to make an offer! We made several offers and were under contract on a house that fell through two weeks before closing. So it's really not a done deal until you sign on the dotted line
One house we lost out on went back on the market recently. Looking at it now, it would have been the wrong house for us. I think things have a way of working themselves out for the best when it comes to house hunting.

Very true! I keep telling myself too that if this one ends up not working out then it just wasn't meant to be. I think we will go look at it again and then talk to our friend/realtor about an offer
