Is there such a thing? Our neighbor has apparently been foreclosed on according to public records and they moved last week. There are a dozen plants wilting out in front of their house and they are beautiful. It would be wrong to move them to my patio and take care of them right? Also they have a play set and trampoline out back and I really want to let dd jump because they always said she could even when they were gone. Probably should t do that anymore huh?

just a lurker
Foreclosure and Eviction are not the same. Your neighbors might be back for the items left behind. My neighbors were foreclosed upon in August of 2013. They were evicted from the house in October 2014. It was not a nasty eviction- they knew it was coming so they moved the weekend before the Sheriff arrived and put papers on the door on Monday. The next day the bank's crew arrived, changed the locks and proceeded to clean the house--- including the ordering of 3 dumpsters.

Ugh it just makes me so sad. I'll go water the plants tomorrow. They haven't been back in a week. I'm guessing their eviction date was the 30th, 6months past the date of foreclosure. I kind of liked them too!

If you have any contact info and you were somewhat close I might offer to buy the items off them. Obviously they have to be in a pretty bad financial situation.
I think it's in poor taste to let your kids play in the backyard. If you were close enough neighbors that she was allowed to play there without them being home, I'm kind of surprised that you don't have any contact info (like a cell) that you can call and see what's up.

Agree with this. I would just leave it be. So sad for them.

I called her, she said they are coming back for the rest of it and would maintain the yard again this week. I offered to take care of the plants, but I guess she's getting them tonight so then I won't have to watch them die.
