How did drop off go this morning? I hope it was easy!
Drop off was fine. She cried a bit but I was hopeful. Until I got a call at noon to pick her up because they wouldn't be able to accommodate a child with egg allergies. When I got there they had my check and the epipen.
When I got to my car I was crying and so I didn't want to drive. They called the cops saying I was making their staff uncomfortable.
Did I mention the movers lost the box with her clothes in it?

So fuck today basically.
Omg. I'm so sorry. How awful! And wtf to not being able to accommodate a food allergy!
I am so sorry, that is horrible. I can't believe they wouldn't tell you that before you signed on with them. My DS has a peanut and an egg allergy and I understand what you are going through. I always ask how comfortable they are having him. I've had many in homes tell me they won't take him because of his allergies and while it makes it harder to find a place I'd rather know up front they can't be 100% comfortable then having an emergency room visit. Good Luck finding a new place. That's just horrible they called the police on you. I would have been a mess as well after having to pick my child up AND find new child care. In the end everything happens for a reason, so hopefully you'll find something much better!
What in the actual fuck? They called the police?! These people sound unhinged. In sorry you're going through this but hopefully you will be better off in the long run with a DCP who isn't a nutjob.

They called the police because you were crying! Omg, they sound awful. It doesn't seem like it now, I'm sure, but your terrible situation is probably best for your DD. I'm sorry, though.

I'm on the Facebook pages looking for advice from other mamas, and the owner of the daycare is on there too, kind of being a dick. He hasn't responded to my inquiry, but he has to others. Ugh.

I'm so sorry, what an awful place. I can't believe they treated you that way, and I hate that they made you cry and then tried to police-shame you because of it.

Looks like you dodged a bullet although it doesn't make today any better. :-(
I am like WTF they can't accommodate an egg allergy? How do they function? So many kids have allergies. And too call the police? You don't want such unfeeling uncaring place taking care of your daughter.
You're right that it's a good thing to know & get her out of there, but it really sucks that they waited until noon on day 1 to tell you! I'm guessing they have no experience with allergies & panicked when they saw the epipen. She's safer not being in their care.
If you had already talked allergy stuff with them, I'd definitely submit some reviews online. Write them today, when you're fired up about it & then edit and submit them after you've cooled down a bit.
Omg, that's horrible!! I can't believe they didn't let you know sooner. And they called the cops! I'd be beside myself. So many hugs. I hope you find the right place soon.

Many hugs for your shitty day.
ditto... C has food allergies, but his daycare has always been beyond accommodating! I hope that you can find one that works for you. Are you near any other mmm's that can refer you?
