I would 100% suck it up and never complain (like last Friday when there wasn't anything I could eat at a firm meeting), but I couldn't eat at this shower. I'm lactose intolerant.

Fun sucker! She said she could add in foneghin by like a grilled steak and salad which would work for lactose and gluten free folks? ETA-I'm sorry you're LI-I wasn't trying to give you a hard time.
lilafowlermilsaroo Oh trust me, I KNOW that I'm the worst. It sucks. I tempted fate a few weeks back and had some cheese with a VERY rich brunch. It did not end well for me. I could definitely eat a plain burger. And those two options for lactose intolerant people sound delicious! I'd be very happy with either of those, @bigreddog.
Sounds great! I would keep the three entrees you selected, and don't add bacon to the grilled cheese (unless that means each person has the option to add it when they order). And I like the dessert selection with cupcake favor, but I would leave it up to the mom whether she wants the dessert selections or a cake. Sometimes people are funny about wanting a cake at a shower.
For booze, I would keep it simple and have a bottle or two of champagne on each table to start, then order more if you need it.
And as for which one I ordered, it would be between the crepes and the soup, salad, and sandwich trio. Right now I'm more in the mood for the trio, but I love crepes, and at noon on a weekend day, I might be feeling more brunchy than lunchy.

I want to ask the venue to do bacon as an add on for the burger and grilled cheese because some of the women coming don't do pork! I think they will do that.
I think that's a good idea, to just ask my friend directly if she prefers a cake. The reason I thought of doing the dessert selection was because I really wanted to do cupcake favors.
Having bacon as an add-on for both is a good idea. Hell, all three. Quiche has never been made worse by the addition of bacon.
And you can always do chocolate favors if the mom wants cake. Or something like petit fours - still technically cake, but very different from a slice of cake.
I'd be happy with any of them, if that's what was served at a party. None of them are things I'd necessarily order for myself at a restaurant if I was paying. I'd probably get the crepe, since it's most different from what I would normally eat.
