DH just sold his old white water kayak and two brand new paddles (found super cheap on clearance at EMS) via Craigslist to a guy who claimed he and his son were looking to get into the sport. The white water kayaking community is pretty small, so we agreed to list the items inexpensively to help out another paddler. Two days later those exact items are back on Craigslist for 5x what the guy paid for them. While it is certainly his right to flip CL items, it's still very frustrating that we thought we were helping someone out and he flat out lied about his intentions.
Even with the kayak listed at our original low price, there was very little interest, so we hope the joke is on him when he can't sell it. Our fear is that he's going to lie to potential buyers and someone else will get to short end of the stick. Just another "Craigslist, Beware" story
Just because someone asks a price doesn't mean they are going to get that price. If you had a hard time selling it, then they will, too. You could respond to his ad to mess with him, though.
