At first I just thought she was a micromanaging control freak, but it is so much worse.
She hasn't done anything to me yet, except act kind of manic and grill me in a ridiculous fashion regarding a senior faculty member whom she does not care for, but I had heard some stories and seen some emails.
Apparently there is an ongoing contest to see who can go the longest (when they first start) without having her go apeshit on them. The standing record is 6 months.
Sigh.
I really love my job, though. Hopefully I can tolerate her. Bitch be crazy.

I just hope to avoid her as much as possible.
The unfortunate thing is that I am not in her lab, but she likes to treat me like I am. KWIM? I am a staff member of the center, and she is co-director. So she is my boss, but she is not my boss in the same way that she is the boss of the students and post-docs in her lab.
The most unfortunate thing so far is that she seems to expect other members of the center to basically ask her permission to work with me. That is not how it is supposed to be.

But you have that interview, right?
My hope is that the fact that I really enjoy my work will get me through, at least long enough to build some professional experience and connections at the local national labs.
