How does your daycare handle restocking diapers? Abby's daycare used to tell us when her supply was almost out, giving us a little time in case we forgot one day. Caleb's daycare doesn't tell us until he's completely out, and then if we forget to bring any the next morning, they call us and need us to bring some in. DH once had to leave work in the middle of the day to get some from home and drop them off.
Is this typical? I know we need to get better at checking his supply, but it's really inconvenient because the diapers are kept in the basement cafeteria and the kids are rarely down there in the late afternoon. Do other daycares do this, too, or is there a little flex time in restocking?
It's a large daycare and not terribly communicative in general.
That is odd. Our DC would always let us know by writing on her daily report when she was getting low. If they ran out, they'd borrow from another child. That's crazy to insist you bring some in! I'm sure Violet lent some of her dipes out to other kids who ran out from time to time too.

Ours tells us on the daily not they send home if we are low. There have been instances when she came home in another kids diaper bc we ran out.. Oops (but that was our fault not the daycares).
My daycare uses himama and puts on the report when we were running low. Sometimes they forgot but when they did, they had some kirkland extras that they used. They wouldn't make me rush in to give them (even if i was the one who forgot)
That's not cool. We used to get told usually a week ahead of time plus on their daily report. Now they have an app to send us notifications on, like yesterday told us she needs sunscreen.
They have signs up reminding parents to check their kids' supplies, so I'm guessing they just expect parents to do it themselves. It's not a high-quality daycare--lots of kids, staff rotates a lot except for during "class" hours, but it's adequate, cheap, and 2 blocks from the house.
I don't get daily or weekly notes for Henry. Before he was potty trained, when he needed something (diapers, wipes or clothes) they would put a notice in his cubby.
I forget what age they quit sending daily notes... maybe 2 years?
I got daily notes at Emerson's daycare and still get daily notes from school. They usually send a note home when she's starting to get low on pull up's, so I'd assume she had one or two left if I forgot to send more the next day.
They let us know with a few days notice and if for some reason they are ever totally out, they just barrow from another kid. They would never make us leave work to bring in diapers. That seems really weird to me.
Wow, that's terrible. Maggie has a cubby in the hallway and her stash was in there, with some removed to her room, so I could always see if the stash was low. But, if I missed it, they also would tape a note to her cubby or note it on her daily sheet that she was getting low. Or both. In advance!
