Through my H's job, we will be leaving for a month long trip on Friday to Eastern Europe/Turkey. It's an awesome benefit and I'm super excited to share the experience with the boys/have so much family time. I'm also terrified of the flight! It will be 16 hours. So far my plan is as much iPad as they want, snacks, a bunch of new wrapped inexpensive toys/art supplies/ books as "plane presents" and crossing everything go that they sleep. They will have their own seats and are used to short flights (2-3 hours). So...what am I missing that will make things bearable? I know a few ladies have fine long flights before. Help me!
The water wow books are fun. Do you have headphones for the iPads? A has done several six hour flights starting at 20 months and she just watches tv/movies and plays with apps the entire time.

One of the new surprises is a water wow book. Maybe I'll grab another. They've never tried them before, but they looked fun. We do have headphones for the boys. I'm hoping they do a good amount of iPad time. They don't get it too much at home, so It should be exciting for them. Thanks for the tips!
It sounds like you have good stuff already! We've done a bunch of 6 hour flights but not as far as you! My advice is to bring a full change of clothes for each of you in your carryon.
I second the change of clothes (for everyone including you)! I also take empty water bottles through security and fill them up to have while waiting and on the plane.
The full change of clothes come from when Luke peed all over my h one flight
Yes! Audrey's diaper leaked on a flight back to NYC in January. I felt so bad having her walk around soaking wet in the freezing baggage claim until our bags came on the carousel.
We flew from the east coast to Asia when L was about 20 months old. Total flight time was 22-23 hours, with the longest flight being 15 hours. She didn't sleep as much as we'd hoped, but she did well overall. She got A LOT of screen time. For us, snacks were more important than plane presents. Good luck!
