zarapipe really random thread, but i know you are excited for your new house and probably love talking about it
how does it compare to the floor plans you were showing us? i know we were picking apart random things like pantry placement (or lack of pantry), proximity of bedrooms to living spaces, access to hallways, garage location... basically everything, lol. were there any major concessions you had to make with this house or is it pretty much perfect?
Hey! To us it's as perfect as we have found. We had been looking for almost a year while our house was for sale. It's basically a 3/3 one story on an acre lot with a great location.
It is 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms on the main floor along with a den. There is a huge kitchen and then a large open area for the LR and DR. On the bottom floor is a walk out basement. Half of it is finished as the 3rd bedroom (with a window) and bathroom and the other half is an unfinished area that my DH will claim as his own.
Concessions are the bedrooms. With the 3rd bedroom being in the basement we have decided to put the baby in the den upstairs. The den is in the hallway with the other bedrooms, is a good size but it doesn't have a closet so it's considered a den. The 3rd bedroom downstairs is much larger will have a sleeper sofa, TV and toys for the kids. It will basically be a guest room/office/play area.
Another concession is the finishing's- it is a newer home (built in 2005) but has wood ceilings and moldings which isn't exactly my style but I will make it work.
It does have a huge kitchen and a pantry
But the best part is that it's finished minus a few changes we want to do. My DH is busy enough and I'm so glad that we wont be building!
I love it! I'm so glad you found something that works for your family
R sleeps in a den (1 bed + den apt). We built freestanding storage for his "closet" and stuck it in a little alcove is his room. It has shelves and rods for hanging. I actually really like it!
I love the wood details in your house. It's totally our style. I would want to change the countertops too, though. Friends of ours have a very "wooden kitchen", but with granite counters and it is gorgeous.
