If you have a bimonthly house cleaner what chores do you do on the weeks they don't come?
Here is what I'm thinking..: Daily: dishes, pick up clutter, wipe kitchen counters & stove, run the Roomba and do a load of laundry daily Weekly: Wiping out the fridge & microwave, wipe exterior of kitchen cabinets near stove & sweeping the screened in porch Monthly: clean drains, wipe switch plates & door knobs, use wood cleaner on wooden furniture & vacuum couches.
Basically they will do the stuff that should be done regularly that I don't want to do.
I do laundry just about every other day. I stay on top of the kitchen- loading and unloading the dishwasher, wiping down the stove and counters, sweeping crumbs, etc.
I don't touch the toys in DD's room, she is responsible for that. I do try to pick up DS's toys in the living room, but don't generally vacuum or mop in there unless there's a big spill/accident.
You guys are going to make DH so happy. He was really concerned that we would still have a lot of cleaning to do even if we hired someone and I was pretty sure I was right in thinking that we wouldn't have to do much at all.
Nightly: Vacuum every day downstairs but that's because I have 3 kids that spill food alllll over the floor and it gets tracked throughout the downstairs. (Never do upstairs) Dishes, wipe down counters, and sink pick up toys
Weekly: Change sheets laundry Pick up EVERYTHING the day before she comes so that all the clutter is out of her way
That's about it. If my sinks are particularly dirty I'll wipe them out but that's not often. And every so often I clean my kitchen sink/disposal with borax. I also do the inside of my fridge every so often.
My house cleaner does the following: Top to bottom clean both bathrooms dust all rooms mop all rooms vacuum all room vacuum furniture clean microwave and fridge and oven/range, cabinet fronts and counters clean windows cleans baseboard
Basically, she does it all so I have very little to do. And even what little I do is hard to get done a lot of the time.
The laundry (on the weekends) The dishes daily (DH does that though) I do run my Neato a few days a week and try to keep the clutter at manageable levels.
That's about it. I have never wiped my switch plates and door knobs. Lol.
We do laundry and dishwasher and counters. I also have to swifter the kitchen floor a lot because of dd throwing food all over the place but that's it.
That's about it. I have never wiped my switch plates and door knobs. Lol.
This is something my mom made me do EVERY WEEK as a kid so it's stuck in my mind as something you have to do when you clean. It's weird I know but I can't let it go LOL
