Right after DH and I got married she wrote us a letter (she's big on letters) and said that now that we were married, anything that we did together was ok...except for having sex with animals.

My arms got sunburned pretty badly last summer. I was wearing a tank top and MIL asked me if she could pick my peeling skin off. I looked at her with my best WTF face and told her not to touch me. She put on a pouty face and said, "Aw, but I like to pick at it!"
This anecdote is representative of her complete lack of social appropriateness and boundaries.
SO's mother is ok, a little odd and socially awkward, but ok.
It's his grandmother (memere) that seems bent on making comments. I realize she has the beginnings of dementia, but damn. The first time I met her the family was sharing someone's birthday cake I took a slice and she said something to the effect of "are you SURE you should have that cake?" I'm only a size 12.
I saw her again two weeks ago. She gets a closer look at me and says "oh yeah, you're the BIG one!" I've lost 15lbs since the last time I saw her. :-(
When we were in the middle of wedding planning, my MIL screamed at me at the top of her lungs about how I was being rude and not including her in any of the planning. ^o) When I later did try to include her, she wanted nothing to do with the wedding. Go figure.

When DH and I were dating, we stopped by his GFIL's house because we were just right next door. They were sitting down playing cards with friends, and we were standing. The first thing GMIL asked me is where I am from, what college I went to, where I live, what I do for work, and where I work. No hello, how are you, nothing. I held on to DH's belt, and wanted to hide. DH said to her: 'who cares? what does it matter?'. I was mortified with her rudeness, like she was already assessing if I am good enough for her grandson.

My MIL is currently waging a public FB campaign about how she can't see any of my pictures, including one she accidentally liked today. She likes to keep me as the "evil" DIL who doesn't share anything with her.
When DH's sister got married, they "eloped" and only 10 people were there, including me. MIL made an album of 50 photos and some how not a single one included me, the only bridesmaid.
