We painted the walls BM "Old Navy" - we love it! I don't think the pictures do it justice, it makes the molding pop and look really creamy white. We're slipcovering the sofa, getting rid of the chair for 2 arm chairs opposite the couch, and the lamps are there for console/mock up purposes. And I probably won't put the orange and blue pillows together.
We inherited the cabinet from DH's grandmother
ETA: b/c everyone loves a dramatic (a/k/a ugly) "before" pic
Decorating the long wall behind the couch is a challenge. I don't necessarily just want to big a mirror there. I was planning on floating the couch, so I was thinking of putting a glass console table behind the couch. I'm hoping you can still see the wainscoting through the glass.
I only found 1 console table that I really like and meets my dimensions and has glass. Of course, it's $635. I want to do a round glass coffee table too so I don't hide the rug.

I like your choice of the classic navy color with the white wainscoting. And the inherited cabinet is beautiful.
I am a functional furniture person, so I'm not sure about floating a glass table behind the couch in an area that isn't really used. Could you instead have a different set-up where the couch floats on the wall where the small wooden side table is now and then you put chairs on either side of a table on that wall so that it is used and showcased?

Does that make sense for your layout?
Thank you - the ladies on the board gave me the confidence to go dark and bold.
We tried the couch by the windows it just didn't look right. That side table is temporary, we have 2 matching ones but they're tall for side tables (maybe better nightstands). I'm planning on getting a bench or bench w/sides or settee for the space where the side table is. So the couch, settee, and 2 arm chairs will be a square shape (KWIM?).
The space behind the couch will only be ~12", so not a walkable area.
What is your reasoning behind the glass? I feel like something in a beautiful wood finish would be more appropriate in there, visually.
I want to be able to see through it to the wainscoting
Putting furniture against all my hard work is making me die a little inside. But I'm sure I'll get used to is. It's also making me want to buy a baby grand piano ASAP (I have an upright against one of the walls not pictured).

I love it!!! I also wouldn't do a table behind the couch, I just think it's an odd location ubless you can move it forward some So there is some type of walkway.
I like the idea of a console table, but I think two lamps seems like too much. Maybe it is because they are too close together, or maybe it is because all that symmetry (the lamps and the pillows) makes me twitchy.
I prefer balance with some interest over all of the mirror image placement.
ETA: I really like console tables, even if it isn't particularly visible. Besides being functional, it adds another dimension beyond the typical art over the sofa thing.

It looks fantastic!
Re: the pillows - I like the orange and blue together... but not the 2 matching pairs of pillows. Less symmetry.
