We may be having guests tomorrow ... possibly two adults and up to six children (ages 3 through 11). Plus me and MH. I don't think these kids are very picky. If they come back to the house for lunch, what should I serve them?
There's a good pizza place around the corner, and they just mailed us a coupon for two large pizzas for $16. I can get a third if necessary.
I thought a big bowl of green salad with some tomato and cucumber slices would be good.
Maybe some cheesy bread or garlic bread ... or slices of fresh mozzarella on a plate with tomato slices, fresh bread slices, and oil, since I've been craving that lately. Or should I swap that for chicken nuggets or mac and cheese?
The visit may be iffy, since the forecast calls for rain this weekend, so I'm looking for things that I can put together quickly that morning or that can easily sit in the fridge until MH and I get around to eating it during the week. TIA for your ideas.
I think your idea sounds good. We had family over last weekend and I did chicken and veggie quesadillas for lunch. It was quick to put together and easy for every one to eat.
If you're going to get the pizza, maybe the salad with the fresh mozzarella and tomato is the way to go?
Pizza sounds good and most kids like it. I wouldn't get chicken fingers and mac and cheese. A green salad goes well with pizza but I would skip the tomato, cheese, and bread side - you're kind of duplicating the pizza ingredients. Maybe just the do a green salad for the adults, and have veggies and dip for the kids. And get the tomato, cheese, and bread for yourself to enjoy another day.
Another option would be to get a bunch of cold cuts and cheese and set up a sandwich bar. I would still do the salad for adults and veggies and dip for kids. And maybe a pasta salad if you want.
