Should I have the fireplace in the corner or centered on the wall? I'm leaning towards centered, but I'd love your feedback! (ETA, if in the corner, the front one or the back one?)
We chose middle of the wall, mainly because we are doing vaulted ceilings and are doing the fireplace all the way up to the ceiling. I think corner would look good in that set up though!

I think it depends on the layout of the room. We have our wood burning fireplace in the corner, but that's where it made the most sense as the focal point of the room. We then have built ins on either side of the fireplace, and one built in (with doors) houses our tv.
I don't know what the layout will be, really. For awhile we'll have a huge couch, but eventually we'll get some room size appropriate furniture in there, so really I can build the furniture choices around the fireplace.

I like the look of corner fireplaces, but I think the best placement depends most on how you use the room and your furniture placement. I really don't like TVs over fireplaces (too high of a viewing angle) so for me I'd put it in a place that is still central to the seating, but also works with having a TV in the room.

I think it depends on how you plan on incorporating the fireplace in the room. Will your tv be above it? Are you planning your furniture around where the fireplace will go? If it were me, I'd have it in the middle, tv above the fireplace, and then I would have my furniture framed around it. I would personally probably also do a built-in to the left and right of it for storage, etc. So it really depends on how you plan on using the room.

Whether you do or do not plan on having the tv over the fireplace, I would consider placement of the fireplace in relation to light coming in from the sliding doors you have/windows. If you do plan on putting your tv above it, then you definitely want to flip it to the back wall so you do not have glare from the doors on the tv, and vise versa.
I prefer them centered. I love the look of a corner fireplace, but always find it to end up being very awkward once furniture placement comes into the picture.
I don't care for centered fireplaces because that isn't what I use a livingroom for the most. I use it to watch tv. I don't want my tv stuffed in a corner. I also wouldn't want my furniture to have to be centered around the fireplace and not my tv. but if you have two living rooms, I would do center.
