Long Weekend trip in Northeast

I am trying to plan a last minute trip for our anniversary. It is July 31, but we would have to celebrate the weekend after. My H has agreed to go on a long weekend trip- like take 2 days off of work I'm addition to he weekend. He prefers driving distance. We live about 25 miles outside of NYC, and don't want to drive more than half a day to get there. I am looking for any suggestions of a good destination! As far as activities that we want to do, we are pretty open to whatever- beaches, non-strenuous hiking, shopping, dining, sight-seeing... I really don't have anything specific in mind. If there is a place you have gone and loved, feel free to give me specifics, like hotel, activity, and restaurant recommendations. Thanks!!

How about Lake George?

If you are a fan of wine you can look into the Finger Lakes. I like Cayuga, it's a little smaller but has a good amount of wineries.

I'm also a big fan of the jersey shore, mainly either Wildwood or Cape May.

Ocean City MD is fun, I haven't been there in so long though! Also like Wildwood but hate the walk from the boardwalk to the beach, lol. Boston? Philly?

I like the Inner Harbor area in Baltimore, MD. You could spend a few days there and a few days in DC even.

I do like all of these places... But I went to college in the finger lakes, so I have been to the wineries many times, and also have been to the jersey shore basically every year of my life.  Also, I used to live an hour or so from lake George and have been there a few times... I am looking for somewhere that I've never been or at least haven't been often or recently.  Thanks for the suggestions though!!

Does anyone have experience with the Poconos?  My H suggested that but I don't really know anything about it.
