Not a fan, but I don't care too much either. I do think it's short-sighted of the animal belongs to the owner, not everyone wants to or even can deal with pets.
Hate it. So much so that I will avoid shops with pets if I know about it.
I am allergic, and am afraid of dogs.
The shops the one person mentioned above that sends the cat "downstairs" when someone comes in that is allergic - doing so is pointless. The dander and hair will be all around regardless, so it's still going to generate an allergy issue.
It sucks that this appears to be more and more common - I now carry benedryl with me whenever I leave home, because I never know when I'm going to be forced into close quarters with someone's pet.
I also get _really_ skeeved out by yarn shops that have "store pets". I don't want some random animal's dander and hair/fur on whatever fairy-fart yarn I'm about to pay gobs of money to acquire. So, I won't buy anything at those shops.
