M has been in his pajamas all day. We are headed home from West Virginia. I moved car seats, packed our bags, and loaded the car. I then realized no one had changed him. Oops.
We just went out to dinner pajamas and all.
The restaurant didn't appear to have a kids menu, so they picked something to share. The waitress then told me about the kid's menu. She was amused that I continued to order them the pork belly BLT. They liked it.

cajunmom that is horrible. I sadly know a number of kids/teens kiled in ATV accidents, usually with an adult driving. I road them when i was young and injured myself. I am glad i live in an area where they aren't common now.
Drinking while driving one makes it ten times worse. He should be charged
DS is 18months old today! We went out for frozen yogurt and then he had pizza with blueberries on the side for dinner. DH and I are going to have some Honeycrisp Apple hard cider (I ate so many honeycrisp apples when pg) once DS goes to bed.
It gets easier. As soon as they start to care more about the world around them usually.Â
Give it some time. Lower the standards. Do what you can. My youngest is almost 1.5 and I'm just coming out of the dark ages and feel like I can do normal functioning things and "me" things again with decent regularity.
I still have trouble keeping up with the house (we went from 1200sqft to 2200sqft so I know that's part of it), C is almost two and I stay home, lol.
I SAH too and can't keep up since we moved from similar sized places.
I talked DH into it and then searched and searched for a cheap house cleaner. I FINALLY found one and cutting 1 meal out/week pays for her. Confession: that meal out is normally replaced with a grocery store roast chicken & easy side.
krystee - nothing is wrong with chipotle salads 4x per week. They are delicious and can be healthy! Personally, I think things get so much more fun as babies get older. DS is almost two and soooo much more fun than when he was a baby. I say this knowing I'll have a newborn next month!
I need dinner and I want a chipotle salad now. Lol. I just told DS I wish they delivered to our house! It might be cereal for dinner because cooking is certainly not happening.
And one infected ear, one on the way to being infected. We are waiting in line at some weird 24 hour pharmacy because our regular one closes at 6 on Sundays.

FIL has been here since Wednesday. It's going well and he leave tomorrow, but he loves dessert! I've had so many cookies, ice cores and shakes in the last five days I feel like all my hard gym work has evaporated?.
After a rough start, G's party was a success (after some bathroom and a basement margarita)! I think he had a great time and our families loved spending time with him.
2 accidents off the bat this morning then the rest of the day he has been dry as a bone and using the potty. He still needs reminding occasionally (I sometimes will catch him grabbing himself) but otherwise, not bad. I'm thinking daycare tomorrow might be rough but hopefully not too bad.
Watching the US Women's soccer team kick ass right now.
H just got a random call (I answered because he was upstairs) and it was some girl saying she was told to call him. I am weirded out and sort of worried. But not really because it almost sounded like a recording. And she wouldn't answer when I asked "who she was trying to contact". Weird.
Off to run in place for the second half of the game. GO USA!

M picked up his "Dragons Love Tacos" book while we were getting him ready for bed and started reciting the words on the correct pages. It's so cute to hear him say "Hey kid, dragons tacos!"

cajunmom that is awful. Reminds me of when I was in college and a guy I went to HS with died after flipping his car while drunk driving. A bunch of our old classmates decided to honor him by having a raging party out in a field... Just like the one he had attended that night.

So glad to be home with no more trips on the calendar for July. 5 hours each way last weekend and 7 (turned 9) hours each way this weekend. Plus then H and I had an extra hour to and from the wedding yesterday and this morning. L did so well, but got antsy and we were all over being in the car. He had a blast with my mom yesterday though and got to meet a ton of people from my hometown.
We survived our first half day of potty training. We waited for after nap because we got home this morning and decide to go to pool for an hour before his nap. He loved it and I felt better getting him out. It is all ways about me :-).
he was like a camel but finally went but really seemed to fight it. Almost like he was scared but he did go in the potty each time. Anyone else have that happen?
Went to go grill dinner and realized we were out of gas. Made quick order to the pupupas place. YUM YUM.
krystee. It gets better. I remember when M was that age we would be ordering out at 8 pm on a Sunday night not because dinner was prepared and had no gas but becsuse we were trying to survive.

My anxiety is super high. Tonight/tomorrow is the day in my pregnancy when DD1 passed away. I'll be 31 weeks Wednesday. I am hoping it gets easier once I pass this point.
I could not possibly care less about this soccer game, but SS wanted to watch it so we are. How long is it? Why is the clock counting up and not down?
LOL, that's how the soccer clock runs because they add on extra time for injuries, stoppage, etc.
I was so confused why it ended after 90 minutes slightly. Soccer is definitely not my sport. But yay USA! And of course I cried when they won anyway because I'm a sucker for a happy sports story.
This is a petty vent, so skip over it if you want.
My MIL bought my two year old a super nice kitchen with 2 sets of Melissa and Doug play food for her birthday back in April. She asked what DD1 wanted for her birthday, which is tomorrow. DD1 told her. She sent... books. I'm irrationally annoyed right now, especially because DD1 was just talking about how she was excited that Nana got her this pony toy that she asked for, as well as a new 3DS game. Guess what? Nana didn't get it and didn't bother to tell me, either. I'm upset because she seems to do this a lot. DD1 is the afterthought grandchild. All of the other grandkids have gotten huge birthday presents, but for some reason, she always pulls this shit with DD1, who is completely smitten with her for reasons I don't understand. It pisses me off. One day, she is going to realize what is going on, and she is going to be heartbroken.

I was short and snappy with C tonight. The first night of several for solo parenting plus fireworks have the dog acting like a total ass. Those combined things made me not a very good parent before bed. Then she fussed for 45 minutes in her crib before I went in. As soon as I did she said, "Hugs?" Sigh. We rocked together for 10 minutes and she was out like a light. I feel extra jerky for waiting so long to go in.
When we went to the BFing doctor and she asked us how many times a day we fed Ethan we told her probably 8 times a day. At that point he was 4 days old. She said we had to feed him 10-12 times a day. Everything I've read about newborns confirms this. But his average feed is an hour long and then he sleeps so how would that ever work? We started waking him at night, which goes against my momma instinct but I'll play it safe for now.
