When we went to the BFing doctor and she asked us how many times a day we fed Ethan we told her probably 8 times a day. At that point he was 4 days old. She said we had to feed him 10-12 times a day. Everything I've read about newborns confirms this. But his average feed is an hour long and then he sleeps so how would that ever work? We started waking him at night, which goes against my momma instinct but I'll play it safe for now.
Yeah it is hard in the beginning. Ds basically ate every 2 hours, with each feed taking 30-40 minutes. So he would eat, then also 1.5 hours, then eat. At least we got the routine down?

All normal bc you time from the start of the feed. So if E started at 8am, fed each side for 20mins, her next feed would still be at 10am, even though she stopped feeding only a hour 20mins earlier.
And we had to wake every 3 hours (from start of feed) until she was back to birth weight. That was the worst bc we were so tired and trying to set a phone alarm when you can barely function.
I'm so crabby. I don't know why. I'm pretty sure that it's related to the pile of dishes in the sink. Instead of cleaning, I'm sitting her bitching about it to you guys. Go figure.

@notquiteblushing how much does he weigh? When we brought DD home from the NICU feeding was obviously a worry but the pedi said we could stop waking to feed when she hit 8 lbs. It had to do with her ability to maintain her blood sugar level.

I think I ruined my kids by letting them stay up way past their bedtime the last two nights. It's an hour after normal bedtime and both kids are wide awake. After 45 minutes, I just got them up and we are in the playroom for a while until we will try again.

At birth he was 8 lb 12 oz. and yesterday he was 8 lb 4 oz. hopefully I can do another weighed feeding this week because on Friday he transferred zero milk but I'm sure he's getting some now.

I am too. I used the last of the ice in a glass of water and DD tipped it all over the kitchen, in drawers, in the trash can cabinet, all over the floor, etc. That was the last straw and I lost it.
Our friends had invited DD over to swim in their kid's pool, so I took the girls over there while H did homework. Then we planned to order pizza (at their house)...except once it was ordered, they were like, "So, are you picking it up or us? It's probably easier for us to just go to your house." Then I had to wait for 25 minutes after the pizza was supposed to be done in Pizza Hut's lobby with 2 wiggly kids. And now we have crumbs and dishes again.
DH and I were happily enjoying our TV and bedtime snacks and WHAM the power goes out. The POURING RAIN started shortly thereafter. Cue scramble to find lanterns. The power came back on thank goodness. It really pisses me off that DS's Foscam monitor won't come back on automatically if the power is interrupted. You have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it. DS woke up coughing so at least I was able to get the monitor back on.
On another note, DS is getting sick again, I just know it. Same pattern as always, he wakes up from a ridiculously short nap coughing and whining. DH follows his SOP of "I'm sure it's nothing, you're being paranoid SuperGreen." We put DS to bed and he's been up 2x coughing in the last 2 hours. Cue my SOP of wanting to give DS the humidifier and ibuprofen to make him comfortable, and DH doesn't want to give him "unnecessary medicine." I overruled DH and gave DS the meds, so now DH is mad at me. Whatever dude.

Lol I am talking to a younger friend about needing new clothes. I told her to try AE jeggings and then told her about Soma underwear. She was like "dude, you just went from 16 to 60." She's so right.

Please don't suggest any purchases from chico's or lands end, ok?
I am 2K short of hitting my pedometer goal for the day. Off to drag my butt to the gym before midnight. I would like to get my money's worth of our complex gym before next spring.

I like Soma. Not for the pjs and loungewear stuff. Because it's old and hideous. But their bras fit me the best no questions asked.
I also didn't think the underwear was any worse than anything else I'd buy somewhere else. I also wasn't buying the high waisted high cut briefs either...so there's that. I also have a weird muffin top issue going on where my obliques are decent, my thighs are toned but I just have this weird flab hanging out in the middle. No skimpy string on the side makes that look good.
Signed, Just cleaned house on bras and underwear at the Soma sale because I'm tired of the fabric in crack issue VS and the like gives me.
Who's one step away from Chico's and a Fit N Flare? This girl probably!
1: "Kimmy rides a bike!" Is great. 2: I'm sorry for the crummy parts of the trip home. I intentionally built "outs" into the days so that I wouldn't spend a full day with parents. Adult children are not meant to have that much uninterrupted exposure
I went shopping with my husband's 78 year old aunt. We started at Macy's and she tried to get me to try elastic waist pants. Then we went to Chicos, because it is her favorite. She made me try on pants and then gushed about them. I bought them to not hurt her feelings. Maybe tomorrow I will post pictures. I may return them.
I thought of you all and I kept trying not to giggle.
We took DD to her first state park today. They had a botanical garden inside. We parked in the shade and let her stand in the passenger seat. She was so thrilled, she let me feed her lunch instead of her trying to eat it herself. And she ate so well too - guacamole, 1.5 meatballs, and 2 hash browns from Dunkin Donuts. Afterwards we stuffed her in the Tula and walked around. When we finally let her loose, she thanked us by pooping. It was a nice outing for the most part, a little hot but it's summer. Also she has become a total shopping cart surfer. Stands herself up in the baby seat within 10 minutes of being in the cart, sometimes less. From now on it will be back carry or nothing when we go shopping.

Tristafé!!!!!!
And thanks My parents live in the boonies so there is nowhere to go "out" to, unfortunately. We're going to do some thinking about how to handle things better before our next trip. We're staying with friends in Atlanta now so the rest of the trip should be smooth
My anxiety is super high. Tonight/tomorrow is the day in my pregnancy when DD1 passed away. I'll be 31 weeks Wednesday. I am hoping it gets easier once I pass this point.
