Sorry I never did this last week! I was out of town and didn't have a good internet connection.
I suggested doing a weekly check-in for those on WeightWatchers or otherwise trying to lose weight. I need some accountability and I'm just doing WW online so I hope we can hold each other accountable and support each other!
So, how are things going so far? Since this is the first real check-in, here are some questions to get us started:
1. What was your weight change this week? 2. How much weight are you trying to lose? 3. How much have you lost since you started your journey? 4. (this is an ETA because I forgot I wanted to ask this question!) - Why are you trying to lose weight? What is your motivation for taking this step to do it?
1. I'm not sure what mine was. I weighed myself twice and the first time, I was down .6 lbs and the second time I was up .4. I tracked the lower of the two, lol. I was out of town for 4 days last weekend and at a bridal shower/bachelorette, so while I tried to make some healthy choices I figured this week wouldn't result in a loss and may even be a gain. I'm ok with that, I don't want to stop living my life but I do want the overall progression of my weight to be going downward.
2. I think I'm trying to lose about 25-30lbs. I'm currently at 186 and I was pretty happy at my wedding weight of 160. The lowest I've been since childhood was about 155 and I'd be happy there too, so I think I'm going to see what I feel like once I get to 160 and go from there. My first goal is to get back into a healthy weight range - I'm 5'9 so I think 169 is the top of that range.
3. According to WW, I've lost about 6lbs since the beginning of the year, but I had a false start with WW in January and rejoined 2 weeks ago. I'm down about 2 lbs since rejoining (if you count my lower of 2 weights today!).
4. (I'm adding an ETA to my OP!) - I'm losing weight because for one, I want to be at a healthy weight. I don't like being overweight and wonder if that's contributing to the pains I've been feeling in the last couple of years. My knees can't handle what they used to, my neck and back hurt often, and I'm just overall not feeling in top physical condition. I think carrying around some extra weight can't help. Also, I'm tired of feeling frumpy and choosing clothing that makes me feel less fat. I mean I will probably always do that, even at my goal weight, but I feel like I'm more limited right now and I don't like that. I also don't feel sexy. I think some of this has to do with age and a lot has to do with weight, so since I can't change aging I am going to change something I can control.
I'll play along. I'm not trying to lose much weight, but maintain what I'm at and tone up. I haven't exactly started the whole workout portion yet. I am working on eating better though.
1. 0 lbs. - I actually haven't weighed myself this week. 2. 1-3 lbs. But this is probably more about toning. I'm not liking the state of my thighs right now. And the extra roll I'm sprouting on my tummy. 3. 0 lbs. - I've gained over 7 lbs in the last month though. 4. I've been hearing all my life how I'm going to get fat. I figure I should get in the habit now while I'm young and single. It's been tricky before because my schedule was constantly changing. Now, I'm starting to get a routine down and would like to start seeing that in what I eat and how often I work out. I really want to maintain my size and tone up. A lot.
1. What was your weight change this week? - 1.8lbs, though that's high for me so don't expect that often! 2. How much weight are you trying to lose? 16 more lbs 3. How much have you lost since you started your journey? 36 this year, 74 total 4. Why are you trying to lose weight? What is your motivation for taking this step to do it? Clothes are much cuter in size 6 than in size 18. But more seriously, health is the primary reason, and just general feeling-good.
3. How much have you lost since you started your journey?
15 lbs since August 1st
4. (this is an ETA because I forgot I wanted to ask this question!) - Why are you trying to lose weight? What is your motivation for taking this step to do it?
- I want to look like this in a bikini. I wish I could say it's for health and stuff, but it's not.
I'm always so fascinated by what people want to look like. I have such a tainted view of bodies.
I def know it's fatter than skinny, but her body shape & height are very close to mine. I'm not built to be waifish.
Oh I completely understand. I wish that I could look like that. It'd take me a lot of weight gain and probably depression to be okay with that size. I don't think I have healthy views of body image because I'm already the "ideal" size.
I wish that I didn't have such tainted views. Even at my smallest, I want to be tinier. :-| 8-D

I just got back on plan with WW this week and I use the etools so this is a good accountability for me
1. My weigh in is not until Monday, so although the scale said 169 this morning, I don't have an official loss yet.
2. I want to lose about 15 - 20 pounds. I'm 5'9" and would like to get in the 150-155 range.
3. Just restarted this week! I started at 172.
4. (this is an ETA because I forgot I wanted to ask this question!) - Why are you trying to lose weight? What is your motivation for taking this step to do it?
I drink a lot of beer. When I turned 40 a few months ago, suddenly all that beer made me have a beer gut. I guess my metabolism changed, so I need to take steps NOW while it is still manageable. I really, really, really want to fit in all my clothes again. I have a lot of clothes and I can't wear any of them.
Buckybells - Sounds like you and I are in really similar places with our height and weight loss goals.
1. What was your weight change this week? -1.6 2. How much weight are you trying to lose? 10 more 3. How much have you lost since you started your journey? 20 pounds since June 8th. **PP after having DD I was 235. I got to a plateau if about 184-188 or so. My goal is to be between 165-169. 4. (this is an ETA because I forgot I wanted to ask this question!) - Why are you trying to lose weight? What is your motivation for taking this step to do it? I am trying to get to a nice weight so I don't creep into the obese category when I get knocked again. (crossing my fingers)
1. What was your weight change this week? 0 2. How much weight are you trying to lose? 15 pounds 3. How much have you lost since you started your journey? 23
4. (this is an ETA because I forgot I wanted to ask this question!) - Why are you trying to lose weight? What is your motivation for taking this step to do it? I've just gained weight as I've gotten older. I gained 27 pounds with my first and 15 pounds with my second kid, and while they were each about 8 pounds, that still left me with about 25 pounds of extra weight that I never really lost. And then I just gained more over the last 2 years lol. I finally hit rock bottom with how I felt about myself and was motivated enough to do something about it.
I am 5'6" and started at 164 pounds in March. By the end of May I was down to 140/141 and I've hovered there all summer. I started concentrating on strength workouts and I've built up a lot of muscle tone but I've relaxed on my cardio. Now that it's back to school time I'll be back in more of a routine so I hope to ramp it up and lose an additional 12-15 pounds. I'd be happy with 10 though .
