I prefer Annabelle over Calla. Another person who also thinks it sounds unfinished. I do not like the name Camilla b/c it reminds me of Camilla Parker Bowles of whom I am not a fan.
My DH has been lobbying HARD for Dominic (and we are having a boy). I do like the name just fine, but the issue is that I have a DS Nicholas (nn Nick), and don't want two kids with the same name. Even if DH were to change his nn preference from Nicky to Dom, it's still too close for my comfort.
So, I'm just hoping that this baby gets named before he graduates HS!

am I reading this correctly? you have a Nicholas/ Nick and your DH wants Dominic/ Nicky?
Hmm, so DH says he likes Annabella, but not Annabel. His main point of contention is the nn Belle. She would never go by that, though. I mean, we have a Vincenzo that is a complete mouth full and we've never given a nn. My DH is just crazy.
lol. Similar hang up to my husband. There is no reason Annabel couldn't be nn Bella if you want. (or Anna, or Annie). In fact, now I'd want to call her "bella little Annabel"

lol wut DH? no
You ARE reading it correctly.
DS and DD are from my previous marriage, and for as long as he can remember, DH has wanted to name a son Dominic, called Nicky for short. DS lives with his dad, so DH doesn't have the same connection to him that he has to DD, but still...

For as long as he can remember has he wanted to be the asshole stepdad who makes his step son feel forgotten and replaced? Otherwise, it's time to let that dream go.

lol - nope. He's an amazing stepdad, IRL. Long before we met, that was the dream. He knows it isn't going to happen; he's just really having a hard time finding a name he likes as much.

Thanks, all. I kinda did like Annaliese, but the anal-ease is seared in now. Ha. I've always liked Cate. My other names that I like are way too out there for DH's taste: Wren, Rue or Flynn.
My son has a classmate named Annalisa. She's completely adorable and the name suits her.
We have an Anneliese - spelled that way, it's not Anal. H texted it to me when I was pregnant and said Analese? Uh, no. You need more letters in there, dude.
