DH was in an accident last night. Swerved to avoid getting hit and hit a curb pretty hard, breaking the rim, the tire tie rod and a number of other things and flattened the rear tire. Thankfully there was little body damage.
DS' Argos was JUST installed in that car last weekend. He's used it 3 times. Graco says replace, but I hate knowing that there's a brand spanking new car seat in there that is trash. I know it's for the best, but damn.
@fivedogs is there much difference between the Argos and the Nautilus? I'm looking at the Argos 65 if that makes a difference. So far I've just found that the no-back booster goes to 120lbs instead of 100 with the Nautilus.

Not fivedogs but one of the main differences in the Argos vs the Nautilus is that the Argos has the no-rethread harness. Other than that they are basically identical aside from the weight difference you mention above.

Thanks. I'm not sure I really care all that much about the no-rethread harness since it's a secondary seat. Maybe I should though...
All I know about the Argos is that DH said it was a complete PITA to install in his car because the anchors are waaaaay down in the seat. We just switched out the Scenera which I guess was easier to install because of the type of buckle/hook for the LATCH on the seat.
I think it is mostly the harness, and some versions of the Nautilus may not have lockoffs. If your h doesn't love the LATCH connecters, he could use the seatbelt - he might need to do that soon anyway depending on his weight. I think you can use LATCH in booster mode on both.
If you're filing on your insurance, let them know about the car seats. Some (most?) policies will replace them.
Yeah I just told DH. It didn't even dawn on me until about 20 minutes ago to look up Graco's policy.
We got hit by a drunk driver 2 years ago and had DS' seat replaced under insurance then without a hassle.
I'm sorry you got into an accident! I'm glad everyone's ok. I had a fender bender last month, much less damage than yours. Chicco says replace the car seats in ANY accident, and my insurance replaced both my seats, no problem.

The Argos and other Graco seats are on sale at Target this week, plus there is a GC deal.
Yes-I'm waiting for the adjuster to call me back. There's a question on whether or not it qualifies as an accident. Ugh.
Ugh. I know it was a curb, but it sounds like a mean-ass curb that broke a lot of crap.
Yeah, he was turning and estimated he was going about 20. To me, it's worth replacing. DH is pushing back and saying that it's a brand new seat and it was "just" a curb...and it'll raise the amount of the claim, but I don't want to mess around with my kid's safety.
USAA won't reimburse us for the car seat til the deductible is met. Ok, fine, but they haven't scheduled the inspection of the vehicle yet which has now been there for 72 hours. They also need pictures of the car seat (which is still in the vehicle, our bad) of the straps cut. Ok fine, but I'm not cutting the straps til I know that everyone agrees on replacement.
They also want to only reimburse us for the purchase price, which happened to be on an Amazon lightning deal. I told her there's no way I can get that seat at that price now. She won't give me a straight answer on whether or not they'll pay for if I go out and buy it today. (This isn't dire at this point, we do have DH's truck with a seat, but we are getting a rental and would like to not have to play musical seats. We expect it'll be a couple weeks for the repairs at this point)
Called Graco, they're AWESOME. She's sending me a statement stating that due to the bodily damage to the car, they need to replace it.
