ahahahhahahaha, that's awesome @ruralrabbit1. i'd buy that and hang it on the wall, like art. when your gentlemen callers come over, they'll get some nice ideas about what may happen later...if they're good boys.
But speaking of amazon, am I the only person who's having issues with the site lately? Like it loads an entirely blank white page, or I can't see my full cart or recent orders?
I had my first mock up sitting with one of my bikini clients yesterday. It went SO well. Based on the mockup that she tried on, I think that I can really turn this into a good business.
I promptly went inside and ordered a bunch of sparkly supplies, started researching opening an etsy store, and trying to brainstorm names.
I got a raise. Sadly that raise doesn't cover my new and increased daycare costs. So much for that raise I was looking forward to but at least it softens the blow of the increased cost of daycare.

Are you making bikinis? That sounds like it would be a fun business. Would you also be making other bathing suits?
(When you mention bikini, and sparkly... it makes me think vajazzling... LOL)
Our employee Union contract was up on July 1, and they're renegotiating it now. It includes a 21% raise for me! So now I keep telling myself that I HAVE to stay until the new contract is in place, so that when they pay out my unused PTO it's at my new hourly rate.
H applied for a job in our home state 2 weeks ago. He's calling today to check in with them (it's in a slow, backwater town). I'm on pins and needles about him getting it. Please please please please.

I'm trying to pull her into the world of making competition leotards for my DD's acro competitions so we don't have to order from Russia any more...

maybe someday...
Also, if you would have told 10 years ago me how comfortable I would be wielding safety pins so close to other people's lady bits, I never would've believed you
I realized last night I need an intervention. I have spent too much on clothes and crap on a credit card trying to make myself feel better or look better, or something. I am sending stuff back and going to put every extra dime to make up for my stupidity.
ETA-not thousands or anything. But under $500 which is not comfortable to me.
It's not stupid to want to buy yourself something every now and then. Please don't be so hard on yourself. Can you keep maybe one or two things and then return the rest? You work hard and deserve a break, too.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get a bajillion people to sign up for a charity 5K that's on Sunday, July 19th? The event director won't cancel it and only 9 people are signed up. We need ~25 to break even.
Can you email a local running store or post to local running groups on FB? What about asking friends and family to sign up? Is it stroller friendly? Maybe post to a local moms group as well?

Oooh, yes! You could make some $$$ making kids gymnastics leotards, too.
How did you learn how to work with that spandex, and how did you get pulled into competitive body building competitions? I don't know why, but I'm oddly fascinated by this side hobby.
milsaroo - Do you think that there will be people that register on the day? I have done that in the past if I wasn't sure of my schedule or wanted to see if the weather would hold out.

Don't be so hard on yourself. At least your fixing it instead of having to deal with the bill later.
milsaroo, I like the idea of running stores, they may let you leave flyers in there. I'd ask gyms as well. They're likely to be accommodating since it's for charity.
I'm assuming you've done this already, but I would email blast everyone I know and beg them to forward it. It's for children, I can't imagine that people won't.
Congratulations on your raises, itsme and @idaholakelady!

milsaroo - I live in Michigan, is the race here? I'd be interested in signing up if it's anywhere near me and could pass it on to my Moms Run This Town group.

Can you come to Montana? We totally need to hang out.
Based on this quote I'm a little afraid to know why you want her to come to Montana and what you plan to do. Is there some sort of winter sport that involves safety pins and lady bits that I don't know about. We don't really have winter here so I could be out of the loop.
The union is picketing at DH's work today and tomorrow. I am generally not a fan of this union but I think this is a bit much even for them. The reasons they are picketing is because they want a pay raise. Yes, I'm sure they do even though the base pay is quite high for our COL but this is a common issue with union negotiations so I'm not surprised by this. Who doesn't want a raise, right? The part that gets me is that they want better healthcare. We are provided with amazing benefits that are 100% employer paid. We have a large network of doctors, $10 co-pays, and 100% coverage on every possible thing you can think of, with the exception of 50% for infertility. I can't wrap my head around why they are picketing this. I know the statement they released says that they want access to all doctors and not just the doctors in the network. However, the doctors in the network are the good ones and I wouldn't see most of the out of network ones if you paid me. I would rather live. I'm thinking that the healthcare isn't really the issue and they are putting more things out there so that the employer will meet in the middle and give the pay raise but not the healthcare. However, I could be wrong.
Was this his first time? My dog killed her first squirrel a few months ago and it took me a long time to get over it. I still get anxious when she sees a squirrel in our tree. Ugh.
