I think 27 or 28 weeks last time. I'm having it at 28 weeks this time. My office moved and is bigger now and they do it in office before my appointment vs having to go to labcorp- I'm so excited!
I had an appointment scheduled for 24 weeks exactly and they gave me the choice of doing it then, or waiting until my next appointment at 28 weeks. I went ahead and got it over with (and passed).
28 weeks. I walked in and they have me the drink and wrote down the time. Then I had my appointment and they sent me down to the lab with the time that I needed to get the draw.
The lab is downstairs from the dr. Office. So they have us go to the lab first, drink the juice stuff, go up or the appointment and then go back down to the lab for the blood draw.
Baby #1 was at the normal 28 weeks. Surprise! I had GD even though I have zero risk factors. Baby #2 was a pre-screening at 18 weeks which was negative, then they wanted me to take the 1-hour at 26 weeks (failed) and the 3-hour a week later (failed). Oh joy, extra time on the GD diet.
ETA: both times I did all the blood draws at my OB's office. I'm surprised you have to go elsewhere @starry.
I did mine the day before my 28 week appt. but that was because they also drew blood for my rhogam shot, which I needed to get within 24 hours or something like that.
I wanted it at 12 weeks consistent with ACOG guidelines (I have RF). I was already following a GD diet and on metformin so my OB told me to chill out and we'll test later closer to the 3rd tri.
