I may have already mentioned that I finally got an EpiPen. It's been 5 months since my anaphylactic reaction so it was about damn time. Every box of EpiPens comes with a tester pen. It's for practice on how to use the real thing but it has no medication or needle. So when I bring it home, I pull it out and show DH. He tries it on me since that's what he would have to do if I couldn't do it for myself.
It's injected into the outer thigh. H's first attempt is more towards the inner thigh so I point to the area and tell him to try again. The next attempt is in my freaking groin. I tell him lower and he injects lower, just still the groin-ish area. Wtf H?? My life is depending on you!!
Lol, I have never had to use an epipen, but when parents showed me how before I babysat their kids it seemed pretty straightforward. I hope you don't have another reaction.
Have you had more testing to figure out if it's all beef, or just some?
Hopefully he figures it out before you need it! Haha
We put an offer in on a house last night. I'm nervous! I'm 99% sure they will reject or counter it because it's low. I'm hoping we can keep them in a range we can afford though! I hope we at least hear back about it today!
We are handing out ice cream to employees this week. It's an employee perks thing we do one week every Summer. They always assign me the worst location to drive to. They give me this same assignment when we decorate for holiday breakfasts. Who did I tick off to get the short end of the stick? lol
We have a super cranky bang and I miss my happy LO. I am a first time mom and have no clue what to do when she gets like this... She isn't sleeping at night and super fussy. Someone send wine!!
I got into a fight with my stairs this morning. I didn't check my pants well enough before I left the house and found a hole in my pants a few minutes ago lol. I only had jeans in my car so I had to put them on. Now I feel weird.
Today is my birthday! We're having dinner with ILs.
They will be getting their new puppy this weekend. For weeks MIL had been trying to guilt me into letting them "borrow" our dog cage, and I refused. I was actually thinking of buying them a new one to get them off my back...Anyway, it turns out that once BIL saw the dog bed we got them, he fell all over himself offering to return the old cage that he had been borrowing from them for the past 3 years, and he will buy a new one for his own dog. I forgot about the power of the one-up-manship with BIL. He couldn't bear to see that H got FIL a fancy-ass dog bed for Father's Day lol.
Good luck estrellita! So excited for you guys and hope they accept your offer!
MrsAggie- Your DH definitely needs more practice! Can you do it yourself if you absolutely needed to (what if he's not around)? I like MrsMB 's idea...tattoo an epipen bullseye and problem solved!
Today is going to be a long day. C is teething and a fussy mess (love him tons anyway!) and our neighbor apparently didn't go to work today so he can stay home and work on the truck (right next to our house) that he was out revving until past 11 pm last night. I don't hate anyone...but this guy is getting pretty close. I think DH and I are on the same page about moving next summer...sucks but between our neighbor and being so isolated from things to do and it being so far from DH's work, I think it's the right decision. I called code enforcement this morning...even though we're moving we still have to live next to the guy for another year

I'm trying to decide if I can get away with just a carry on bag instead of checking. I normally check but that's when it's Southwest (free) or United (free b/c I have the credit card). We're flying AA so $25 each way, blah.

MrsAggie - He will get it. I have shots for my migraines in an injector pen. At least the first two times H gave them to me, he set them off wrong or early and sprayed the medicine everywhere. One of those times we had nothing else to use and I was throwing up all the pill based medication. I could have killed him. He is a pro now. I don't even get out of bed when he uses one.
HoneySpider- how long are you staying? That plus access to washer/dryer would determine how hard I try to cram things into just a carryon.
Thurs-Thurs so 8 days including the travel days. We do have access to w/d and have decided to throw a load in which is the only way I can even contemplate this.
luv2rn4fun I can administer it myself and most likely would if I had another reaction. If for some reason I pass out before I can get to my EpiPen, I need to know that I can trust H with my life lol.
HoneySpider I would definitely take only a carry-on for a one-week trip, especially with access to a washer and dryer. I pack very light, though - for something like this, I'd wear my heaviest/bulkiest shoes while traveling, then take max 2 more in the suitcase; underwear for each day plus 1 extra; toiletries; 2 pair of crop pants max, 1 pair of shorts, 2 jersey-type dresses that don't wrinkle; 5 shirts max including the one I'm wearing. Then any other essentials like swimsuit, jacket, etc. For sleeping I'd throw in 2 tees/tanks and 2 pairs of lightweight shorts. Instead of folding I would roll the shirts and dresses, it seems to take up less space. Make sure all tops match with all bottoms and that way you have some versatility there.
Happy Birthday @moonbeam! Hope you have an awesome day!
MrsAggie- Makes sense! Hope he can figure it out and remember if the time ever comes that he needs to give you the shot (hopefully this is never an issue!).
HoneySpider- I would definitely carry on, especially since you have w/d access. No need to spend the $50 each way (assuming both your DH and you have separate bags). Carry on = more money to spend on fun stuff!

DH can definitely get away with a carry on, so we would only be checking one bag. I am not worried about clothes so much as toiletries and such. I guess when I start packing I'll see.
luv2rn4fun I kind of hate your neighbor. He sounds like an inconsiderate jerk, even though he probably just wants to pursue his hobby in peace. Either way, I'm so sorry you have to keep dealing with him. Is moving looking any more appealing in light of his continued noise and your mom's improved health?
HoneySpider I always just take a carry on for domestic flights, but I never need to bring big hair tools like a blow dryer or straightener. It would be harder if that's needed.
MrsMB- I'm glad he can practice before the real thing. When I had to give myself an epipen I freaked and my mom had to give it to me. Thank goodness for my mom. Lol! My mom did laugh at the paramedic who couldn't give herself a needle.
@emtmissy- some days I wish I worked a desk job so that when in tired it would be easier to get through the day, but then I realize how boring that would be. Lol! I also feel so guilty when calling in sick, so I basically never do it.
pooh8402- I have been thinking about you. Your H will sleep much better when he's exhausted after baby comes. I may be stalking you on GotP to see how you are doing.
Happy birthday @moonbeam.
HoneySpider- because you are visiting family I wouldn't check a bag, I would just steal everything that you can't put in a carryon from them.
luv2rn4fun- I hate your neighbour! I'm glad you and your H are starting to be more on the same page about moving.
I froze 10lbs of blueberries last night. I am excited to be able to use them in baking, smoothies and such. Yum yum!
I also picked 3 zucchini last night from our garden, I love zucchini! I just need to figure out what to make with them. Our garden is helping us eat so much more veggies.
amaranth- he's just really inconsiderate and running a business out of his house...he's literally out there all hour he's home and not sleeping. His son is out there frequently during the day too so I feel like I don't ever get a break since o SAH.
Yes, moving is very appealing now with my mom's improved health (and issues we are having with her...she hates DH for some reason and it's causing friction...probably because we want to move) and our neighbor and the fact that there is NOTHING to do here. I'm so bored being home with C (love y time with him but it's hard when the closest big shopping is 20 min away).
ETA UPDATE: I talked to Code Enforcement (I had talked to her awhile ago but decided to proceed after last night)...she is sending a code violation for the mechanic work and dirt bikes. They have 2 wks to comply and then get a warning. After the warning it becomes a monetary fine until a lien is placed on their home. If they stop and then start up again anytime within a year it restarts where the case was closed. Thank you God...sucks to have to do this but living next to them is really stressful and not peaceful...they have managed to make us hate our home that we once really loved.
