I love the JCrew Jackie cardigan. They're lightweight, hold their shape great, and look great unbuttoned over dresses. I have one that's six years old and still going strong. JCrew has sales all the time, so don't pay full price: www.jcrew.com/AST/filterAsst/women_sweaters/cardigans/PRDOVR~29350/29350.jsp

Halogen (Nordstrom house brand) has amazingly well made 3/4 length cardigans. Mine have held up for years! Generally I toss them in the washer & dryer with the rest of my clothes but pull them out after 30 minutes and line dry the rest of the way. I can also wear them a couple times between washings without the elastic on the sleeves wearing out which is a huge bonus. Great colors, $46 each. Sometimes the discontinued colors/patterns go on sale!
Modcloth has a really nice cardigan called the Charter School Cardigan. It comes in 15+ colors so you could almost get any color you need. The material is very soft it almost feels like cashmere (it's not). Only downside is it is hand wash only. Some reviewers have said you can put it in the washing machine, but I am too chicken to do it because I love mine so much.
I have the red one, but I am going to get a white and a black one soon. If you do end up ordering one make sure you go up a size, they run on the smaller side. I have a 1x and I'm usually a size 14 or XL in tops.

Me too! I just got a bunch, both long sleeve and short sleeve for summer. I'm forever in a cardigan to cover up some arm tattoos so I've got a million.
