I'm thinking of buying a twin bed from Pottery Barn Kids… how is the quality? We debated about just buying a headboard and think that the bed might not feel as sturdy when we are on it to read a book with them…
I'm specifically looking at the Catalina bed. Thanks!

We just bought a Catalina bed and built it over the weekend. I think its better quality than the PBK crib we have. It's really solid and has a platform so you don't need the boxspring. It feels well supported and I love the style.
DD has a white twin Kendall set, bed plus trundle, nightstand, and dresser. We've had it about two years and it looks great. Very solid and heavy IMO. I'd buy it again.

This is great news! So, did you buy a small box spring for the bed or just a standard twin size mattress? They are having a sale on the bed now so I am thinking of getting it.
We got the Catalina bed for DD when it was on sale in May. I think we paid 350. It's really nice. We got a low profile box spring from Amazon. I think it's 5".

We just put a twin mattress ontop of the platform, no boxspring. We might add one in the future when I'm not worried about her falling out. We also bought it when they had it on sale for $350. I was watching the price for awhile and only saw it at $350 for 1 weekend, usually its $399 "on sale"
We also have a white Catalina bed. The quality is fantastic. We just have a twin mattress, no box spring. No regrets! It was super easy to put together too.
