We were just there and didn't have a stroller, do you have a backpack? Ds was happy to ride on daddy's back at Mt Rushmore. Also there are lots of stairs there so a stroller would be a pita IMO. It was a great stop though, have fun!
We don't have a backpack. I think we are going to skip Mt Rushmore this time- H and I have both been and I think the girls will be to young to understand.
Did you go to Reptile Gardens? I think that and Storybook Island might be the main places we check out.
No, we pretty much stayed around keystone. The train is pretty cool if they are into that. We didn't ride it but got to watch them fill il the tank with water etc.
How can you love humidity? You are clearly insane. Also, it is only humid because it is going to rain
We didnt get any rain yesterday and it was humid! you should know by now that it is humid most of the time here in the summer and that doesnt mean it rains all summer.
Except for this summer, of course.
Oh, well it poured forever here yesterday, so I think it is our rain making you humid And it is supposed to rain here today too STILL humidity is horrible. You are clearly an insane person.

I love that area, my parents lived out there for a while and my sister is still there. Reptile Gardens is cool and there is a big petting zoo called Old McDonalds Farm. I know a lot of my friends that had kids also liked Bear Country and then there is a big fish hatchery in spearfish that is really neat but will definitely not take more than like 45 min tops unless your kids are fish obsessed.
Also, um, DS2 slept through the night, from 7 until 6 when I woke him up. There was a bit of fussing around 3 but then he went back to sleep. This is the second time in a week.
I feel like tonight he will be up 5 times but I'm still happy that apparently he CAN sleep that long in a row. If he does it a few more times maybe we will sleep train to get him doing it regularly.
My DD who just turned 1 STTN last night. This officially means sleep training for us too. Lol.
It's pouring rain but I don't care as we are on our way to great wolf lodge for three days with the kids. To make it MM, we get to stay for free because of DH's work.
@mrsbecky and karinothing it poured all the way home on the metro and half way home and then by the time I got home it was sunny and it never rained there. These t-storms we are having are so strange. I can't believe that just 5 miles makes a difference.
Hugs minniemouse. That is rough. Hope you get some answers soon and can reduce your stress level.
M is running around in just his undies as we continue the potty training drama and he is so stinking cute. Also H is just so patient with him and can talk him away from the edge of meltdown so well. I feel like I am horrible toddler mother.
Today is the last day our buyer can opt out on our house. I'm cautiously optimistic. The buyer also agreed to a 10 day lease back so that we can have work done on the new house.
After missing out on several houses we really liked we are finally under contract for a great house. Which is good because I don't want to move again for 20 years.
We had an okay night. I called uncle at 6:30 though because he was screaming so loud and uncontrollably. DH fed him a bottle. He's sleeping now but if I don't drain my left boob soon it's going to fall off.
We let Ben sleep in. DH finally went in his room at 9:50. This is all due to the extra thirty minutes I let him stay awake on Tuesday. They said he was so crabby at school yesterday. My kid needs SO much sleep.
We decided to buy DS a twin bed/mattress from Amazon. I'm actually waiting until Prime Day to order just in case it's on a good sale that day. His B'day is 7/18. If it makes it more $$MM to wait then so be it!
Our Dyson broke about a month ago, right before the 5 year warranty was going to end. MH called and they were going to send a new head piece, because the guy thought that the motor in there had died. We've been waiting for it and H called yesterday and they said that it's on backorder and they don't know when they will get it. So they are sending us a new vacuum, when we ship back the old one! Only problem is MH can't remember the one the guy is sending. We also called the last day of the warranty on our monitor because the sound stopped working on the parent unit. Motorola is sending us a new one too. We win warranties this year, lol.
We were at OT with P this morning and it's in a big open area with toys, etc. A little boy asked me, "what's wrong with your baby?" and it broke my heart a little bit.
(I know the kid didn't mean anything bad, and if I had to guess he probably had CP too, but it's hard to hear.)

DS2 nursed last night, twice overnight, and this morning so I think his three day nursing strike is officially over! Thank goodness, it was seriously stressing me out.
I've got a "full day" today, which is what I call it when DH is gone before wake up and not home until after bedtime. Luckily I don't have them often, they are the worst! We're watching Tarzan now and might head to the pool later if the sun comes out.

I tried using the gym daycare for the first time today. "Tried" being the key word. I made it through 20 minutes of my kickboxing class before they had to come get me because DD was melting down too much. She was a snotty, sobbing disaster when I picked her up Separation anxiety sucks.
Wow, almost a hundred posts already. Good I can bury this venty rambling thing here.
Mom had another low blood sugar incident last night. It feels like they are getting more common, maybe 2 or 3 a week. I have no idea if this is normal for type i diabetics or if this means something is going wrong. As far as what triggers them it just seems random. In the back of my head I wonder if we should be more anal about what food we have in the house. I bought the Mayo Clinic's book fit diabetics, maybe that will help me understand what's normal and what's in our ability to control.
Semi-related, I've seen at least two people on my FB feed gleefully announce that their SS disability applications were approved. This annoys me because they are way more able to work than mom is. But because mom was too poor and uninsured, she didn't go to a doctor, so there's no record of her being too sick to work. It's all, just, arrrgh.
My MIL called. She's coming over this weekend because (surprise!) she needs something. Not to visit O or anything. Plus, they are coming in the morning, which means they plan to stay all day and for us to take them out to lunch and dinner. great....

niq My brother is on SS for bi-polar disorder. His initial claim was denied, and then he got an attorney who specializes in appeals. She was able to get him benefits, and she took her pay out of the award, so no up front cost to him.
Maybe you can get some baseline visits in with her doctor (which it sounds like she needs anyway, with the blood sugar issue), and then work with an attorney to appeal?
