C is at school in Pull-ups today. He peed on the potty twice yesterday and once this morning, so I think it's pretty clear that he's ready. He will do anything for a mini Oreo, I guess.
Last night, a friend I haven't talked to since high school reached out via Facebook. I always knew he had some sort of disability but I wasn't sure what because frankly it was never really important. We haven't talked in years. It turns out that he also has CP and has been wildly successful and is an anchor on ESPN. He also works with kids who have language disabilities to teach them how to communicate through technology. So awesome.

I have a 2nd phone interview for Tuesday. I am targeting 3 different companies, and I am making the first steps with my second and third choice jobs. I wish I would hear something back from job #1 though.
I have personal connections at all 3, so hopefully I can work those into something promising.
This is so stressful though, and I am fortunate enough to be getting paid my full salary for 16 weeks. I can't imagine the stress if my family was relying 100% on unemployment.
I am so tired. BIL took us out to the fancy steakhouse he works at for dinner last night as a thank you since DH did his breaks. OMG you guys. I will likely need to enter 1000000 points into WW for the dinner, but it was AMAZING.
I was supposed to sign on and WFH last night and I did, but not til 10, and only for an hour.
So now, I have a touch of hangover, from the food and alcohol, and I have to meet my deadline in a few hours. Boo Friday.
H's family has a reunion tomorrow so I need to pack for that today. The weather is supposed to be nice but I don't know WTF I'm supposed to do regarding 2 infants that nap every 3 hours. We're bringing 2 ergos and a PNP and hoping for the best.
Guys, do I want an exersaucer or a jumperoo? We had neither of these but our PT recommended an exersaucer for R - I guess I didn't really consider that both exist. Maybe I should get one of each for the girls?

We have to get the house ready for our exchange student who is arriving from Paris tonight. We are also painting our living room/kitchen/hall this week. My husband had talked about painting this morning, since he has the day off, but he was up until 4 am. I'm kind of annoyed, because we have a busy week ahead of us and I was hoping to start getting things done.
I want to organize and purge ALL THE THINGS this weekend. I'll probably lose the motivation once I'm actually back at home, but maybe I'll really do it!
Add me to the list of ladies sending their kids to daycare today so they can have a day to themselves. Except in headed to the library to work on research and write articles for this fall.
I think I found a preschool program for Ds! He misses the 3 yr old cutoff and it is hard to find a program that takes younger kids that aren't potty trained yet. Wed and fri 8-11 am, $185/mo. That seems reasonable? I really have no idea. So excited at the prospect of 2 mornings a week to myself! Well, until the baby comes.
Bizarro random. I remember watching the first episode of Boardwalk Empire, and being freaked out when the lead guy saw tiny babies in incubators on a boardwalk. Fast forward to this morning and I find out this was a thing.
I think I can say DS is potty trained? No accidents for 2 days and no pee accidents since Sunday. The crazy part is we have been putting him in a diaper to sleep (we have just a handful left so I was going to switch to pull-ups) and he has woken up dry as a bone every morning. And he told me "I don't want to sleep in a diaper anymore." So I guess we will try sleeping in underwear and see how that goes.
So much work to do on the nursery this weekend. I love my H but he is not feeling the same amount of urgency his crazy nesting pregnant wife is and it's driving me nuts.
The memory card on my phone is corrupt and causes my phone to go crazy. It also contains over 700 pictures, many of which are not backed up. I was able to get them off the card on one of the photo things at Walgreens so I will have them on a DVD. So PSA, back up your photos! Also, any recommendations for the best way to do this? I have them on my computer and an external hard drive, but I think my computer may have caused the problem because my phone was plugged into it when things started to go crazy.

Yep. My six months are half over and I'm stressed. Fortunately H is the breadwinner, but I need something to pan out!!
I should not be allowed to go to Target alone. I called H and told him to save me from myself. But I got two Christmas gifts for DD and a birthday gift for my BFF's son who is turning 1 in a couple months. So we'll just call it "spacing out gift buying"
So I ended up spearheading the class gift for DCP, which was a $100 gift card to Wal Mart. I put in an extra 45 dollars so we could get her a Starbucks gift card and flowers, too. I didn't tell the group that (I wanted them to think we were all more generous than we actually were) and I didn't tell her that (I wanted her to think that everyone cared that much).
Now it's time to plan family events for my grad school's college alumni branch here in Houston. Anyone have any ideas? Criteria:
- relatively cheap - fun for ages 2 - 10 - one thing in the fall and one in the spring (they operate on a school calendar)
I'm working on going to a Houston Dash game (women's soccer league - they have Carli Lloyd and 2 other WC winners on the team!) and getting a tour of the stadium, locker room, and hoping to meet some players. But that won't be until next April it it works out. So I mostly need something for the fall, although this could fall through.
What about one of the pumpkin patch farms that have other activities too?

Packing today as I think we are leaving for the States tomorrow. We are flying standby with a buddy pass and were scheduled to fly Sunday, but tomorrow is looking better. Kind of a hassle with a toddler, but we saved 75% so I will deal with it.
Today was also DD's last day of daycare...she starts school in September :-(
2 of the 3 mothers helpers we were going to use when DS2 arrived are moving Our babysitters (twin sisters) charge $10/hour to babysit and I think they may be willing to come over 2 afternoons each. But we can't afford $20/day for a few hours of help so would it be ok for me to offer them a weekly salary that is less than their normal hourly rate ?
It's 8:53 and DD is still sleeping. She has had nightmares around 6am the past few days and DH has been putting her in our bed after that and she sleeps so hard. She is definitely ready for the big bed. Pulling the trigger on the LON bed now and getting her a big mattress tomorrow.
