I don't care what football team you root for. You get married in front of a goal post, wearing jeans, with the minister in a referee shirt, I am going to laugh my ass off at you.
Take THAT, Barbie and Ken!
(BTW, welcome to the SEC, Aggies. This is the kind of nonsense you just entered into.)
On the upside, at least they didn't choose a Saturday between September- December.
We got invited to a wedding in October. We are very much :-| and :@ about it. And the couple is from a huge football family. The bride is wearing a football jersey in their Save the Date photos. We can't figure out WTF they are thinking.

Is it at least an away game? I got married the week before football started on purpose.
Anyway, that wedding is hilarious. I can't believe she got her dress monogrammed. I also can't believe there was not more houndstooth involved.

Haha. But on the flipside, at one such October wedding, I couldn't believe my ILs were literally sitting there with radio headphones in their ears the whole reception. FIL would randomly yell "MIZZOU Touchdown!"
It was one of their best friend's daughter's wedding and FIL left early to finish watching the game. Really? Isn't this what are DVRs for?
Oh dudes, my cousin just about disowned me because I had my wedding over the UM/MSU rivalry weekend. I had to find him a bar that was filled with UM fans (which I did, because I'm an awesome cousin like that). I was a little scared by all the "Go BLUE!" shouting that was going on.

It is honestly out of my realm of comprehension that anyone could be mad that a wedding is in football season. I can think of nothing during any season that means so much to me that I would be angry at having to go to a wedding. I am not sure if that makes the football fans lame or me passionless.
UMaine, it would have been out of my realm of compassion when I lived in CT growing up.
Then I moved down south and fell in love with the college football culture. Now I get it. Now I'm one of 'those' people. I'll admit it. I'm pissed that there's a wedding that day. It's the 3rd Saturday in October, dammit. There's a ton of good games on that day.
The book "Rammer Jammer" that details the Alabama football fans holds the story of one man that skipped his daughter's wedding because she got married during an Alabama football game. And one man that was on the wait list for a heart transplant and went out of state against doctor's orders to go to an Alabama game - which means if he had gotten the call for a heart, and had been at the game, he would have been SOL.
College football is serious here. If you have any comprehension of that, you DON'T get married in the fall.

Amen to that. That wedding above is not my kind of wedding, but I'm okay with it. They were obviously going for the casual, cheesy, football look, and they did it smiling the whole time. Good for them.

I can tolerate fall weddings during game time IF there are TVs and free booze. If the couple is fun enough, it becomes a tailgate party in pretty dresses. (Which, ahem, we SEC girls wear anyway on gameday.)
Little_Moxie, I agree. I was appalled at the heart transplant guy.
Chilly, I haven't made the jump yet to dressing up for games. I just can't. It's so freaking HOT. How do you do it?
Sundresses and sandals for early games... I find them cooler than anything else. (You get a little breeze, kwim?) And then sweater dresses with tights and boots for later in the season. I also have a cute red peacoat.
Of course, I may never make it to another home game. :-( Season tickets are too rich for my blood. I might have to just drive up and hope to buy off the street this year!
