I work in a furniture warehouse. I typically sit in a very comfortable Herman Miller Aeron chair (you see them in hotels a lot). They had to take my chair to use as a sample and gave me this other very nice looking chair, but after sitting in it all day, it is very uncomfortable. The seat kinda tilts forward and it's leather, so I feel like I'm going to end up on the floor. The arms don't adjust so they keep hitting my desk unless I lower the whole chair so that I'm sitting down too low. I have a pounding headache, and I attribute it to this task chair from hell.
Some kind of generic rolling chair, not comfortable but not awful. This one doesn't even have adjustable arms.
One of my coworkers has gone through 4 office chairs in the past year. And he's not a big guy. WTF is he doing?
Sounds like he needs a more heavy duty chair. Does he break them?
Yes, but in different places. On one the part attaching the seat to the back broke off, in another an arm got broken. He just takes chairs that are abandoned in other departments, so it could be he gets chairs that are about to break anyway. It's not like they'd ever buy him a new chair or anything.
My desk chair is utter crap. It's a joke around our job site that when they bring in temp trailers for outages they get awesome chairs and we are still stuck with crappy 10+yr old ones.
