My kids are fully vaxed per the CDC schedule but this one I need to read up on. I have some very level headed friends who are pro-vax who are skipping this one so I need to research it and ask them.
Fine hesitant. Whatever you want to call it, I am asking what it is people are concerned about.
I'm concerned for a couple reasons. I am not anti-vax at all.
1. it had a fast approval, and I've been unable to find a significant, credible history on the research prior to that. 2. It's new. And while i understand that everything is new at some point, this is new and going into MY kids.
Why on earth is gardasil required for school??? cervical/vaginal/vulvular/anal cancers are not contagious, and genital warts are not exactly spread around K.
I don't even think it's approved for kids that young? I assume (!) if schools are requiring it they are requiring it for middle school or high school. The cdc recommends it at age 11-12.
I guess I figure why be concerned about it when most of us have 5+ years until it's recommended, you know?

This is kinda where I'm at. From what I know, it reached the market quickly.
And there are only 2 states that require it but its not until jr high I believe.
And FWIW, I also declined a pill for my RA and opted for IV infusions for the same reasons. The pill was fast tracked through FDA approval and the side effects are much more severe than most of the other meds. So I feel like my hesitation isn't as paranoid since I apply the same scrutiny to other meds
