The HuffPost is downgrading Trump from a real political contender for president to a sideshow. Their main page says, "You're Fired!" with a pic of Trump at a podium. I can't wait for Fox and Friends' response.

A Note About Our Coverage Of Donald Trump's 'Campaign'
After watching and listening to Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president, we have decided we won't report on Trump's campaign as part of The Huffington Post's political coverage. Instead, we will cover his campaign as part of our Entertainment section. Our reason is simple: Trump's campaign is a sideshow. We won't take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you'll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.
Welllllll... we never did claim that they were unbiased.
I don't like this decision, though.
Ditto - It's funny and would have been really funny if the Onion reported this, but with the HuffPo it seems like they are trying to influence voters instead of reporting and not just on their opinion page. I think this is actually going to work in his favor with the more conservative oddballs who follow him and against their reporting with the more mainstream conservatives.
Lol. I applaud them for this. He has (or had) a reality show. He does shit for publicity and he is a sideshow. He probably won't file the proper forms about his money. He likely has no serious intentions towards the presidency, and treating him like he's serious only harms the political process.
If he didn't top every major poll and have high favorability ratings with the Rs then I would say okay. This story is bigger than trump now though. This is a story of american racism and xenophobia and to treat him as a sideshow treats these american problems as a sideshow and a joke.

Joe Scarborough has described Trump as "sucking all of the oxygen out of the room." I think that is a great descriptor. I don't know how I feel about HuffPo's decision though.
It's funny because it's true. He's a joke and this is all a publicity stunt.
But honestly, if this is the standard, you'd have to downgrade half that fucking clown car to the entertainment pages. Half the people in the race are doing nothing more than just saying outrageous things in hopes of generating buzz. Jindal? Huckabee? Santorum? These aren't serious candidates. They are just assholes looking for a microphone and their next paycheck.
Pretty soon, the entire race will be moved the entertainment page. Which is not the worst idea because maybe then, the real political story can be, "WTF is wrong with the GOP."
It's true that not everyone can aspire to the high standards of Fox News.
Or collaboration with Dr. Phil as HuffPo does.
TBH, I would listen to Dr. Phil before the MENSA members of Fox. I think it's kind of precious how you are such a stickler for source credibility, though.
i can see both sides of this. LOL at going to the entertainment pages. I think this may be an OK decision for some other minor candidates, but I don't really think you can do this if he is a leading candidate.
I wouldn't use Huffpo as a news source for the election anyway, but I kinda agree that if you're gonna cover one you should cover them all. That doesn't mean you can't limit the stories you publish on the matter.
HuffPo is newsy enough and Trump is polling high enough. They should give him the same coverage that they do the other primary contenders until such time as he implodes.
